2000 Kangoo Cut out and won't testart!!! Help!!!

Okay, after my last post about the oil drinking it' finaly let me down but I don't think the oil leak is related.

On way home I encountered a stand still traffic jam.
Turned engine off for most of the stationary stuff but started two move two or three cars forward at a time so engine left on. Now I was letting it move on idle as the traffic was moving so slow and it just cut out and would not restart.
Called tow truck and they got my location wrong and I just happened to get it started and cancelled the truck. now I should mention here that it has had a missfire or lumpy pull away in second or third coming out of a rounderbout. Little lumpy hesitation and then off she goes! Well it pulled of fine had a bit of hesitaion and then 70 no problems. did about 35 miles and it just cut out at 70.
no lights on dash as engine was being turned by gearbox. Tried to bumb it on the slow down to no avail.
Called tow truck and he reckoned fuel starvation??
still can't start it .
I've replaced the filter and the pump(Just pump and not sender)
Ive turned engine over with pipe disconnected at filter inlet and get fuel. Same again at joint under drivers footwell. Same again where it joins to injector rail - No fuel on this one???
Blew throug pipe to joint under footwell and it felt and sounded clear.
Any idears please??
Doesn't have to be fuel like the tow man said does it.
should fuel come out the connection to rail when disconnected and started??
Need it for work on Monday :(:(:(

Many thanks for your help
