Hi, I'm a new member and have had a good look on the forums for a solution to the following problem with limited success. The following is my understanding from piecing together info from several forums etc:
I have an Espace IV 2.2 DCi on which the compressor clutch will not engage for the AC system. I have 12V at the connector to the compressor but from other posts my understanding is the system is controlled by switching the negative side. With the vehicle switched off I have an open circuit on the negative wire and with the ignition and AC on I have 150K ohms. With the negative side connected directly to earth the clutch engages. This backs up my belief that the negative is switched probably by a relay somewhere. This leads me to the next problem of where is it? I can’t seem to find any reference to its location what with no Haynes manual available and Renault keeping their wiring diagrams secret. I think I have managed to trace the wire to a connector below the battery tray from which I it looks like it disappears inside the cabin.
If my conclusions above are correct can someone please let me know where I may find the offending item?
