Morning all,
I'm half way through a dephaser change in my wife's Grand Scenic. Cam is locked via the slots, engine mount and covers are off. Crank pin is in (screw type).
My question regards the crank bolt for the aux pulley. I initially removed the cam belt and assumed the locking pin would hold the crank while I undid. But this pin only locks in the clockwise direction. So I've put the old cambelt back on temporarily.
So two questions
Must the aux pulley come off to remove the cam belt? I'm 90% sure it must.
And how do I lock the crank to remove the pulley bolt? Leave the cam belt on, in gear, brakes on and go for it? Leave the cam locker on or off?
Thanks,
Gareth
