No power in pull off.

Hi all

I've just bought a Renault grand scenic 1.9 dci 55 plate and its booked in garage for new electronic hand brake in 3 weeks time.

The car does not pull in 1st and 2nd gear yet once your in 3rd pulls like a train any ideas what problem could be the problem?

Turbo not smoking and is working fine.
You can put your foot all the way down in 1st and it takes 8 seconds to build up to 4500 revs.
Any ideas?
