Scenic 1.9 Replaced turbo then revved itself oil sprayed out and smoked filled street

Scenic 1.9 on 55 reg Replaced turbo then on restarting engine. it revved itself to redline oil sprayed everywhere and smoke was so bad it filled the street. Then it cut out. Don't want to try starting it again.
What damage will this have done? Will it have blown the engine or the new turbo ? Can it be fixed ? Any info would be most greatful for Thanks in advance:confused:
