Buying a 1.5 Dci Megane

Hi all, this is my first post in this forum.

Yesterday I went to a garage to buy a 2007 1.5 Megane Dci. I have paid for a deposit and I am going to pick it up later on the week.

When I went to a test drive with the salesman, he drove the car away from the garage and 1/2 a mile after I went to the driver position and noticed the car doing a lot of white smoke when idling. He told me that it was normal because the car was stopped for a long time and valeted.

The strangest thing is... I was driving with a a nearly empty diesel tank, and when I finished the road test,I couldn't see more of that white smoke

The car dealer has good reviews and is offering me 6 months warranty.

Tha car has full service history, and cam belt was changed at approximately 70000 miles including the water pump. Now it has 96000 miles on the clock.

Do you guys think this is normal? Should I be worried?

Thanks
