Central Locking - not working after accident

Hi All,

My car had an accident as some stupid bloke hit my car whilst it was parked and drove away without stopping or giving information.

Nearside passenger door is completely squashed as that need to be replaced.

I also noticed that the central locking system is dead as clicking the lock button from the remote key causes a click which can be heard. But actually all 4 doors are not locked. I did notice that when I turn on child lock from the inside of the car, then the rear doors are locked (from inside) - not sure if this uses a different locking mechanism to the one used by the central locking system.

My question to the forum is -
1. How does impact to the nearside Passenger door affect Central locking ?
2. Does this sound like an issue with the central locking system (or) could be the wiring or anything else ?
3. If I have to replace the central locking system (assuming it is a a piece of electronic device which sits somewhere) - where is the central locking system device present in the car.

Car: Renault Laguna Dynamique 1.9 2003 registration.
