Cruise control and speed limiter

Hi All

My cruise / speed limiter do not work. The fuse is OK. The only clue I can give is that when I press the active button on the speed limiter side that after a few minutes the speed I am doing will show on the display but I can never alter it. Ten minutes later, or thereabouts, if I have slowed or speeded up, the speed on the display will alter. Its like a iffy connection. But where do I look first.
