Tom Tom controller centre console.

I have just bought & fitted a centre console into my 2011 scenic 3, which has a TomTom sat nav built it, with remote control..
The console that I got has a controller built into the arm rest. I have fitted & connected the electrics.. the control doesn't connect to the sat nav, can anybody tell me why? Haven't checked for live feed yet... Thanks
