my 1.5dci started to tap/knock very loud its been sat outside for 3-4 weeks since it started
any way the story when i bought the van the head gasket was gone so new gasket and cambelt kit and it run as sweat as a nut around 2000miles later it started to knock very loud the sound is like loud tappets/bad hydrolic lifter
so i bought another head ready for a head swop but in the mean time i read a little about injectors and thought its worth checking they have been coded
so cleaned the injectors got the 16 digit number from each one plugged in the renault clip 3 numbers are correct but in the wrong place and one number was wrong so i recoded into the ecu the correct codes to the correct cylinder i have only done about 10 miles but the difference no more knocking noise
i will update this thread after another 1000miles or before if any problems
but it just goes to show if you have not done it with new or 2nd hand injectors get them coded to the ecu
