yellow warning light problem

i have a 2002 renault megane scenic expres auto and when i first start in the morning after about 5 mins a yellow warning light comes on with a picture that looks like a gearbox with the word auto underneth if i then turn the engine off and restart it does not happen again unless i leave the car standing for long time then it happens again after 5 mins driving has anyone any ideas please
