hello ladies and gentlemen, its been a long time good, but now i come to you all asking for advice once more :d:d
ok, so the megane threw a spark plug (no.3) on the way to work the other day.
i continued to drive it the 10km on 3 cylinders to work. it ran fine but lumpy, as expected.
when i got to work, we drilled, tapped and helicoiled it. the spark plug is now in fine.
it started fine straight after the helicoil.. ran for 30 seconds, made a funny metal noise, cut out and wouldnt start again.
and i couldnt get it started again, i had to get a tow truck :(
the next day, after following advice online, i added a little motor oil to each cylinder, and it started up straight away. ran perfect, but smokey. which cleared after a few minutes.
drove to work.. and it wouldnt start again.
bump started it, drove home fine.
wouldnt start in the morning.. bump started it, drove to work. slight misfire somewhere. seemed to "loose power" then find it again, over and over. (for 24 km)
today coming home.. it started perfectly, drove fine for a few hundred metres then started to "loose power / find it, loose power / find it all the way home.
it wont start on the key now, it just turns over and turns over.
im going out now to clean up the icav if it needs it or not, to see if that makes a difference.
anyone got any ideas otherwise? it runs fine when its idling, it just wont start then it seems to lose power ??
