Drive problem with Clio II Automatic 1.6 1999

Had driven my car for about 2mins and at a junction lost all drive.



The gearbox seams to be engaging as I go through D, R, 1 and 2, but when I put it back into park there is a clicking noise, like gear not engaging.



The CV joint on the drivers side I can put with little or no effort which I know is not right, yes?



Any ideas anyone?
