trouble starting

clio 1.2 grande 2000

haya, i do not know very much about cars so please be gentle with me.

when i try to start all i hear is a single click. i have a new battery and starter motor. Power is reaching the starter motor, and i have tried using a jump lead to check the earth. the car will bump start. any ideas?
