I've had a search through these forums for a solution to my problem I've not come across a thread yet which is quite like the issue I've had.
I suspect this is simply a worn clutch that needs replacing, however I would like your input first before I take it in to a garage.
I will try and describe this as best I can, if you have any question please asked.
I have an 03 plate, Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique it's on about 75000. It's had it's fair share of issues over the past 3 years I've owned it. I've recently taken it in for it's MOT and Service in which the oil has been changed etc.
Yesterday the clio was driven into the country for the first time while me and my girlfriend went for a walk in Clithroe. It had to do a lot of uphill climbing and managed it just fine.
After our walk it and on our way back home it developed a problem. I'm having to rev hard to move out of first gear, felt like I had to fight it to not stall. However when changing up the gears and applying gas it's dropping into gear fine then I get this strange juddering and loss of power, it's as if I'm applying and disengaging the power quickly about twice before it finally settles into gear.
I feel like I'm not getting the power out the engine as I used to either. I was driving back today to find myself in 4th gear doing 30mph and the revs are 2500 to 3000 revs.
If you have any questions or solutions or even ideas before I take this car in, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advanced.
