I’ve got a 07 Megane 2.0 DCI GT 150 with a strange knocking sound when it starts up from cold.
I’ve found a video on YouTube of a Laguna DCI engine with exactly the same issue.

Once the car has been running for a couple of minutes the problem goes away. Engine drives fine after that. If the engine is warm this doesn’t happen.
The only comment on the YouTube video talks about a possible explanation being air in the fuel line and I’ve had a look and can see some very tiny bubbles in the fuel line but not loads.
It’s going into a Renault specialist to have a look at it but just thought I’d check to see if anyone else had come across it.
