window Regulator and moter

Hi guys i purchased a new window regulater with motor for passanger side window, trouble is the connection to motor of my old one is a round connector, and the new one is like an oval, could i just cut the oval connector off and the oroginal round connector of and just wire the bare wires together, Obviuosly in a safe way with crimps.
