Hi All,
Got a Y Reg Clio 1.4 16V, had issues starting it, use to be able to leave it and would start fine after a couple minutes, got progressivly worse to the point that it would take days before it would start again.
Took it to the garage and they found that the ECU wasnt detecting the Camshaft Sensor, so wouldnt turn over. Intially replaced sensor with "uprated" wiring - direct from Renault. Still having issues, same thing.
Next the ECU was replaced, the car now starts first time every time, the issue now is that the engine will no idle properly and stay running. For example if you come to a junction or have to drop down a gear, the engine would stall.
The ECU was replaced again, with the same issue. Im told (from the garage doing the work) that these ECUs cant be remapped, so is there something that is being missed here? I would imagine that if the old ECU was installed again, the previous issue would return?
Any help would be extremely appreciated, as Car has been in the garage with the same issue for sometime now.
thanks
