Hi all,
I have been trying to track down a problem where at idle my motor does not run smoothly (the rest of the time it is okay), and have found that when at TDC the camshaft slots are not aligned as they should be.
I have a timing kit, but of course I cannot insert the aligning tool whether the motor is at TDC or not. The front camshaft seems to be in the correct position, but the rear one seems a couple of degrees out.
Given that I have never attempted to replace the timing belt myself, I assume it was set incorrectly the last time it went in for a belt change.
Is it possible to turn the rear camshaft with the timing belt insitu, to align every thing as it should be?
My motor is a F4R (I think) 2.0L 16 valve in a Megane 2004.
Cheers.
