Lag 2 Dci - Odd bearing / pulley noise. Vids attached.

Hey guys ,

My 100k '05 Dci has got an annoying bearing/pulley noise at idle. And it is only really obvious when at operating temperature. You cant hear it when the engine is cold or when you are on the move at any temperature.

To me it sounds like like a knackered alty bearing or similar so I did the usual thing of spraying a load of WD40 at all the pulleys on the aux belt run and it made no difference. One thing that may (or not) be relelvant is that I changed the alty belt and the cambelt 4000 miles ago and I only really noticed the noise shortly after I did that.

I assumed that I may have over tensioned the cambelt and it was the new waterpump , but I dont think thats the case. What did strike was that when I fitted the new cambelt it was difficult to fit even with no tension at all on tensioner! It felt almost as if the belt was a mm short. (It isn't)

Anyway here are the vids.

It did occur to me that as it only happens at idle that the issue could be DMF but the noise is definitely louder at the cambelt end of the engine not the gearbox end
