Hi, i'll try and be brief in my quest for assurance / guidance. apologies for length;
2.0dCi on a high mileage and driven hard, but pampered and very well looked after when it comes to parts and maintenance.
Tonight on the M62, under moderate acceleration, the following sequence occured;
- sudden jolt to car,
- plumes of white smoke from rear,
- complete loss of power, revs drop to 0k BUT engine not stalled as no brake / coil etc lights on,
- i managed to pull over and stall the car on the hard shoulder after 10s, some errors appear (handbrake etc),
- smoke billows out of engine bay, (i released bonnet catch incase of fire!),
- i telephoned and awaited recovery, during which time a large pool of oil appeared under the front,
car recovered to local garage via relay - evidence of oil loss from back of engine wherever the car was left (flatbed, carpark, pavement etc),
so;
note that car has been whistling for +/-100k assume the turbo probably was 'weak'.
any ideas - all the hallmarks of a runaway diesel, though the revs did not go through the roof, rather peversely, the opposite.
come on, help an M9R laguna get to 300k!!!
