Renault clio not cranking

Hi there my renault clio II is not cranking when I turn ignition key! Only thing I hear when turning key to start is the soft "click" of of a relay somewhere near the passenger footwell. Can someone help.Have heard it could be starter solenoid connection.Battery is strong!
