Hi to all
I've just started to investigate a problem on my 2002 Scenic. The car does not seem to detect the doors opening. Symptom is the interior light fails to operate, but more importantly, the alarm believes no doors have been opened- so on unlocking the car, it automatically relocks itself (with the danger of locking the keys in) and, if you happen to be in the car but not started, the alarm is rearmed and then goes off as it detects movement within the car.
I've got as far as looking at the Haynes to see that as none of the door switches work it's unlikely to be a door switch, nor is it likely to be an earth point as there are at least two separate ones in use.
I suspect it will be something to do with a "Multi-timer Unit" which looks on the diagram as if it should supply voltage to the door switches. The door switch plugs have 2 pins - one is correctly connected to earth (measured) but the other, which I believe should be live is actually dead (approx 0V measured).
I was just wondering if anyone has managed to rectify a similar fault and whether anyone can point me where I will find the "Multi-timer Unit"?
I have found posts with similar problems, but no solutions as yet.
Hope you're able to help,
Regards,
Mark
