1.9 dci timing

I have for the last month been riding round with a bit of an annoying tapping from the top of the engine. I have checked the timing today, lined the cam up to its mark and then checked crank it was in the 6 o clock position. According to the diagram it should be offset slightly more towards 7 o clock. Does this mean I am a tooth off correct timing?
