Hi!
Recently bought a 2004 1.4 Clio for my girlfriend for when she passes her driving test. Unfortunately within 2 days it has already packed in.... [emoji20]
Found missing o ring on number 4 coil pack, so water inside, fixed that, and fitted new coil packs on all, new plugs, air filter. Have oil, anti freeze etc to do, adjust brakes and handbrake mech as one side drum is slightly binding....
Would have been fixed if it wasn't for the red stop and solid immobiliser light stopping it from starting... [emoji35]
Reading various threads suggested a uch issue, got a N3 unit, sent away for programming, on return same issue, some faffing around found it running again with no problems, but has since packed in again... [emoji19]
More forum searching suggested wiring fault in harness from uch to ecu - can bus power feed? Looks like the white and purple twisted wires above gearbox leading down. Hopefully I'll get time at the weekend to eventually get the damn thing running, then I can flush the aftermath of a head gasket failure from the cooling system - already poured dark beige gunk from the expansion bottle [emoji40]
It's a nice little car for my girlfriend, and pretty safe, cheap to fix, but I'm not used to modern car electrics with crappy thin wiring, I'm used to a 45 year old air-cooled VW Bus, with only 8 fuses!

Thanks everyone, looking forward to getting up to speed on the Clio!
Cheers,
Alistair
