Hi everyone,
Can anyone help with these questions regarding a diesel 1.5 cDi.
1. How long or how far should I need to travel for the engine temperature gauge to show the engine is at operating temperature?
Mine can often take 20 minutes for the bar to move up to its operating line. I once drove more than 14 miles (in about 20 minutes) and it never changed from warm.
Is that normal?
This one is a bit harder.
2. Does anyone know how the relationship between the oil temperature gauge and a Renault ecu works?
What I need to know is how temperature feedback influences the ecu? What is it telling the car?
I have a fault that only comes on after a restart from warm.
I can drive the car 200 miles and the fault light will not come on. However restart the car - when I know the engine is warm - and the fault returns.
The fault is saying that there is an issue with the dpf. Could this be symptomatic of temperature gauge issue?
