Renault clio sport 172 2002 burning smell

My 172 smells in the cockpit of burning and shorted the 20 amp fuse to the heater, checked the fan blower and it runs ok. I found out that after the short the car wouldn't start, Disconnecting a small connector at the side of the fan main connector (yellow wire and a brown wire) the car starts and runs fine but still have a burning smell, does anyone no why this could have happened and what the yellow and brown wires are connected to.
