My old man has a demic of a 2005 scenic 1.6 auto with about 20k miles on (probably due to its faults)
in the past it has had all sorts of issues
today whilst out he returned to the car, the car unlocked, it wouldnt start says remove card
removed and repleced, same, dash lights up, cars lights come on, dash says remove card and i think it says disengage handbrake
the handbrake release does nothing, he tried the boot release cable but that has done nothing and am not sure if he said it didn't appear to release the handbrake
he also says the gear selector is solid in P and doesn't move
he has left the car is situ unable to lock it as the lock button is doing nothing
Initially im thinking the car thinks its in gear and so wont start or the key card is faulty (trying another tomorrow)
Does the gear selector on these lock in place when not running?
Any thoughts?
