help please....can u tirn the front passenger air bag off an a scenic

Hi ive got a 52 reg scenic fidgi & I'm wanting to turn the passenger air bag off so I can put my child in the front, ive searched forum & web & cant seem to find a thing except people saying u cant, however there is a light on the dash (it isn't on) that shows a car seat & baby ok so this leads me to believe u can turn it off, but I can't for the life of me find anything in the car I.e where to put a key or switch etc, any help would.be greatly appreciated as I'm due baby any day now
