Not being at all interested in football, and after seeing that seagulls had used the car for target practice - decided to use the time productively and give it a wash.
As it's been almost a year since we bought the AMG, I thought a wee update was in order.
So far, apart from one service and an mot it sailed through, all 4 tyres have been replaced, the rearmost pair just a couple of weeks ago. The Nankangs lasted 11,000 miles (not bad considering the power they had to handle), but were replaced by very nearly-new Pirelli PZero Corsa. I decided to 'up' the size from 285/30 x 19 to 295/30 x 19 - hopefully more time gripping and less time slipping = better wear. Quite impressed with the tyres as they were the first I've used which come with a tread pattern that is not only directional, but 'handed' Left or Right for positioning on the car.
One window regulator needed replacing (£140 for the kit from Mercedes with a trade discount + £60 for my autoe-elecrician mate to fit), plus an airmatic pump which was replaced at a mercedes specialist.
Overall, the car (bearing in mind it is now 9 years old), has been very good and we will be embarking on a fortnight's driving holiday to Holland in a week's time.
Here's a couple of pics I took after it was washed. I think it's wearing quite well.
