Central Locking Story

:confused:I took my Grand Espace iii year 2001 to my local Renault garage and asked them to repair my central locking system. The drivers door had the only key lock and the key would not turn in it even the key fob did not work, they said even with a new battery it would not work the central locking system.

So that left me using the overhead locking switch which only locked both the passenger and rear door and the boot.

I left the car with them, 3 days later I went back and they had replaced the solenoid on the drivers door side and fixed the wiring to drivers rear door

They said they had to order an item referring to the door lock which would take a week to come.

Now i could enter the car and use the overhead locking switch to lock all the doors from the inside, however when exiting the car I had to make sure I did not use the same switch as I would not have been able to get back in the car.

So my car doors were all open for 1 week, which was a pain when I needed to use the car.

A week later I took the car back and it turned out they had replaced the locking mechanism in the drivers door, I use the same key to unlock that however none of the other doors open, leaving my friends stood in the rain.

Once in the car i have to use the overhead locking switch to open all the other doors and the same again to lock the 3 doors and use my key to lock the drivers door.

Is this normal? All i wanted was to have the car locking an unlocking with a press of the fob.

This costs me the equivalent of £350 as I live in Spain

Sorry this is a long winded story:crazy:
