Hoping someone may be able to shed some light on whats going on with my car, its an 07 plate laguna 2ltr DCI Dynamique 150bhp, its done roughly 158k miles.
Now i've had several mechanics under it prodding, poking and rubbing their chins, whilst my bank balance has dropped in the process. Basically, when accelerating, going round a roundabout, turning in full lock and even round slight bends in the road, the car doesn't want to turn, it wants to go its own way, like into a hedge or a ditch! I am convinced that the passenger side wheel is no longer attached to the car, it sometimes makes a clunking noise but only in full lock, with the feeling the tyres are dragging rather than turning. The only way best to describe the feeling coming off a roundabout or going around a bend is, its trying to throw you off the road and takes every effort to fight with the steering to keep you straight without hitting a curb. In a straight line and accelerating, the car pulls to right and the steering feels extremely light.
So as I said i've taken it to the garage several times, its had......
4 new tyres
tracked (twice)
rear sub frame bushes replaced (twice)
And apparently there is no play in any of the track rod ends, ball joints etc.
Its going back to a garage tomorrow, so any advice would be welcome, not just because I don't want to have leg pulled but because I don't know whether given the mileage etc it's worth throwing even more money at the bloody thing. I also want to know how safe I am to drive this thing, whether its something thats likely to go bang in the middle of town or I can at least get it to the garage.
