new engine

Hi all, after picking up the wife a 2004 1600 megane, I've discovered that piston rings on cylinder 3 are shot,so.. New engine it is! Engine code is k4m 780, but there doesn't seem to be a lot around. Will I be Able to stick another lump in it with slightly different codes, or does it have to be an exact match?.. Hi I'm after picking up the wife up a 2004 1.6 megane but have discovered thepistonrigs on the 3rd cylinder are shot so new engine it is, engine code is k4m 780 but there is not a lot of them round, is it possible to stick a new engine in with slightly different engine codes in or does it have to be n exact match

Does any one no if it has to be the same engine code or could it be a slightly different engine code
