No fuel flowing out from high pressure pump.

Hi,

just bought a mint 2007 megane sports tourer 1.5 dc1,it only has 70k on the clock and it looks brand new in and out!...I got it as a non runner for £550 so not bad at all.

ok the problem is it has the dreaded injection fault showing on the computer,and after checking fuses etc I turned to fuel system,,i know some of these engines have problems with the pump so I started to look into it..

well after checking there was fuel in the clear pipes and not just air and using the hand pump to check no bubbles were flowing through I turned to the pump itself,

ok I removed the metal pipe from the back of the pump to the fuel rail expecting loads a diesel to fly out as its under pressure but.....nothing?...dry as a bone!

undid pipes to the injectors and all dry too...

so there is fuel getting to the pump but none flowing out to the fuel rail...

well I removed the valve/solenoid from where the fuel enters the pump and after squeezing the hand pump fuel was flowing from the open hole.

so im thinking this valve/solenoid is the fault?..as it seems to be stopping the diesel from getting to the rail is this correct?
