Heya guys, I know this might sound a bit stupid, but I passed my test only 3 weeks ago and as my car came with no service history I think I should get it serviced asap.
I would just like to get a bit of advice, I browse around the net and places say I need to call for a quote (I expect that's because all cars are different and they need specific information.) so I would like some advice on how to proceed. I know it would be a good idea to ask people around, but generally what would be the best way to go about it?
Should I look at a Renault dealer, a large chain (halfords etc) or an independent mechanic? I have heard my fair share of stories of garages ripping people off, outside of asking friends how else can I go about not getting ripped off?
Also my MOT is due for renewal in June, would there be any benefit to waiting and getting an MOT and service done at the same time?
My car is a 1.2 Clio Grande 2001 (Y reg) and I am based around the York area if anyone has any local advice for me.
Thanks in advance for any help.
