This is my first post and I have tried searching (honest) but I suspect the secret is knowing what to put in the search box
I have the above car with a d7f engine. It was working fine but all of a sudden cut out without warning.
It would attempt to turn over and sounded normal but would not even catch. The recovery man said it was a cam belt failure. But I would like a simple mple way of checking this. I have seen somewhere that if you jack the car up and remove the front right wheel and liner you should be able to see if the belt is in tact - is that right ?
Because it was a cheap option I change the sensor but it made no difference. I have pressed the red reset button next to the battery but to no avail.
So is there a simple way of checking the cam belt ?
Thanks in advance
Dave
