air bag reset on 06 grand scenic

hi guys, a quick question for you all, iv got service and air bag light on , iv replaced the damaged unit with the steering ribbon in it (main stalk switch),but air bag light still on ,should it re set on its own when repaired or does it need re setting on a computer
