depressing brake pedal causes wooshing sound

from the passenger side under dash. like air being pushed out. my son put his hand up under dash towards the centre and says there s a little air being released that he can feel..
I have a megane ii 07 model 1.9L dci.
this one has me stumped..:confused:
Any ideas??
