Engine cutting out when braking

I tried asking this question a few months back and couldn't get an answer, probably due to my inability to properly explain it and the fact that I thought it may be related to the braking system and put the thread under that heading...So I'll try again...

I don't drive my car (laguna II 1.8 16V) aggressively, but on the occasions that I'm forced to brake heavily, the revs drop dramatically when clutch and brake are depressed simultaneously and it's now at a point where the engine has actually cut out on me a couple of times at busy junctions. On reflection, this fault is probably not related to either the clutch or the braking system but the symptom persists nonetheless...I think it must be a fuel and/or air intake problem which only shows itself under these conditions as normal driving and idling are fine. I would be grateful for ANY thoughts on the possible causes...




Removing Instrument cluster Laguna 2

I need to replace the multifunction display on instrument cluster of my 04 Laguna 2 and don't want to break anything.



Were are the screws that secure the trim going round the cluster? I can't find any previous posting referring to this.

Clio 2007 Mk3 AUX and USB issue

I've just bought a Clio 2007 mk3 and in the glove box it has:



I plugged a standard AUX wire into the AUX port and then into my iPhone. I enabled AUX on the head unit too. I then switched to the AUX mode and then tried to play some music from the phone but to no avail. It has this head unit:

Bought a Clio grande 1.2 on an 04 plate was running well until yesterday when on my way to work a light appeared on dash and car died a death engine running but no power totally harangued by other motorists who thought I had just decided to take an early morning stroll the light shown appears as a wavy line with a box

Megane 225 Engine Cover Rubbers

Hi Guys.



My Megane 225 didn't come with an engine cover when I bought it so I have decided to buy one for it.



Got a nice one but now I don't have the little rubbers that sit between the engine cover and the little metal prongs that stick up.



Does anyone know where I can get these from or even what they are called?

2008 renault master 2.5dci 115hp vibration issue

Hi Guys



I have the above van for 6 years and last 2 years I have had an unbearable vibration ((pulse)) coming through the accelerator pedal.



Its very prominent as you increase in speed and long motorway driving is becoming almost impossible with regular breaks.



Vibrations only comes through when in gear.



Its noiseless and maybe vibration is the wrong term as its more of a rapid pulse.



Ive had both driveshafts changed,gearbox bearings done,new tyres,clutch ((flywheel perfect)),all ball joints ,mounts except tranny mount but mechanic says its fine and couldn't cause such a sensation.



Its driving me crazy , any suggestions?

but i still have a problem , when i start the van i can only get 2000 revs then after ten mins the van works ok

i was told turbo boost sensor was neening replaced of which i have done nothing changed

now i have been that it could be the ERG valve

now can this valve be cleaned or does it need replaced thanks northfielder

Laguna Dci Turbo banjo washer

I'm just putting the lag back together after replacing the turbo, but can't remember where the copper washer went on the oil feed to the turbo :confused:



does it go between the union and the turbo body or between the union and the head of the banjo bolt ??

Clio 1.5dCi misfire and warn light on idle after motorway

Hello everyone-

My 2002 Clio 1.5dCi 65 recently had an injector replaced, to cure poor starting and the glow plug/electrical fault warning light being on continuously. Those faults were cured, but since then the car has had a problem that only occurs after being on the motorway for over half an hour, doing 70mph or more continuously. As soon as I come off the motorway the car starts to misfire when idling, as if running on 3 cylinders, and after a few seconds the revs suddenly pick up and the warning light comes on (which I understand is the "limp" mode kicking in). If the car is then driven slowly (say 30-40mph) for a few minutes the misfire goes away, and the warning light goes out when the engine is revved or car is driven faster.



The garage that replaced the injector diagnosed an EGR valve fault by plugging in the fault code reader, which apparently registered a misfire on the same cylinder as the new injector - number 3. However, after replacing the EGR valve the fault still occurs and a different fault code comes up - "combustion fault" this time - relating to the same cylinder as before. The garage then checked the valve clearances and did a compression test, but although they found nothing wrong they are now saying that they can't reproduce the fault after an 80mph road test. I have presented the car to them with the fault occurring and the warning light on, but they seem to think that there must be something wrong with the way I am driving (too slowly perhaps - only 70mph). Can anyone suggest an alternative diagnosis? Is there likely to be a fault with the new injector for example?



I need to sell the car because I have already bought another one to replace it, but I can't sell it with a known fault like this with a clear conscience. My stepdaughter's friend wants to buy it, but if it broke down and caused an accident, or left her stranded on her own somewhere, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.




Mk2 clio axle bushes HELP

Hi, i have a s reg mk2 clio and the rear axle bush have failed the mot.

I have taken the axle out and removed the old bushes

And now I can't get the new ones in.... Can any one help? Is the a tool I could make or rig up?

Broken door lock

I have a 57 plate Clio Campus. I like this model of Clio, easy to drive although not a lot of power. The only problem is that the single key operated lock (on the passenger door, the driver door on a left hand drive car) does not work. The central locking is fine, but I have no way of locking / unlocking if this goes belly up. It is seized. I squirted WD 40 into it and the whole mechanism turns through a whole turn rather than activating the locking / unlocking mechanism. I suspect that this doorlock has never been used by the previous owner in 6 years and it is corroded. How does the lock work? Can I put in a replacement mechanism or does it need to be coded to the car in some way? I just know that a dealer will want to replace everything they can at an enormous price which I am not willing to do.

Suggestions welcome before I get the spanners out!




Laguna 2b Drivers Window Stuck

hi all, car going strong on 260,000m now, though small issue has above.

(and i did search!).



basically on the drive home tonight, after being fully opened the drivers window decided to stop 1/2 open / 1/2 closed. i have pulled it up with the palms of both hands to close it overnight / for the journey home, though need to resolve the conventional opening function long-term!



the motor is sounding as i can hear the whirr, and the window stays up - so dont think the motor nor runners are at fault.



is this a regulator issue in your guys experience, and if so, is it fairly easy to replace / sort.



car is a 2006 initiale 2.0dCi, presume the doorcard is easy-ish to remove?

Scenic RX4 misfire silinder one

Hi there



Hope somebody can help me please. My 2002 Scenic RX4 2.0 petrol have a misfire on silinder 1. What have I done so far?



1. Swapped the coils. No difference.

2. Replaced spark plugs.

3. Check for current on the wires going to the coils.



What have I found?

1. The sparkplug of silinder 1 is wet with petrol.

2. The coils seemed OK.

3. There is no current on the purple wire coming from the harnass(ECU?) so I assume the wire is broken somewhere.



I know that silinders 1 and 4 works together and 2 and 3. I know that the purple wire is not broken up to where it goes into the harnass.



Instead of taking apart the whole harnass to look for the damage on the wire I want to start from where the wire begin or is plugged in to.



My question is the following.



1. Since silinder 1 and 4 work or ignite together, is it possible to just connect the purple wire of silinder one to the purple wire of silinder 4 to give power to the coil of silinder one. There is current on the wire of silinder 4.



2. If that is not possible, where can I look for the starting point or plug in point of the purple wire so that I can start there to try and find the place where the wire is broken.

Modus aircon relay location

Hi



Can anyone tell me where the relay or control unit is on an 05 plate modus 1.4.

The light comes on the dash when you put the aircon on but the clutch on the compressor is not engaging, so its either the relay or the clutch unless something else can be holding it off that someone to tell me about.

Hi i have just been informed that i have a oil leak from my rocker cover and the gasket needs replacing. I have done this myself on a 1981 mini. I was just wondering if anyone has done this themselves.and how easy it is to access it.

Scenic II Coolant temp sensor connector

Hi guys,



Just a quick question.....the connector the locks onto the coolant temp sensor is damaged on my 53 plate Scenic 2. I doubt Renault sell the part....but its a long shot. Has anyone any ideas or any suggestions of a fix for this?

I expect i may have to buy a part wiring loom but dread to think of the cost.

Hello to all on what appears to be a great forum dedicated to all Renault owners, firstly let me introduce myself, im a new owner of a 2004 laguna 1.8 extreme, mk1 phase 2 I think, well after having the car for a week now I think I can say what a lovely drive it is, mind not with out its faults, just a couple like the common one of cutting out when breaking at a junction but not all the time, and stalk controls not working for some reason, still im sure I will get to put these right by you good people with your great advice and knowledge. please keep up the good work so newbies like me can relax knowing that someone somewhere will allways help if they can. :d




Oil in Coolant Help !!!

Hi Guys



I am hoping someone can help me. My car is a Megane Scenic Dynamic 1.6 DCI.



A month ago my car started overheating. I was taken to garage where they diagnosed a fault with the pipes from the coolant (Bulging and split) I had these replaced and everything seemed good.



On Saturday while in Scotland I check my coolant and there were traces of Oil. My first thought was that the head Gasket had gone. However there were no signs of he following



- Overheating

- White Smoke from exhaust

- Milky Substance in the Oil.

- Oil Level was okay



I decided in my wisdom to make the 220mile journey from Scotland back home to Leeds. All was fine no overheating.



When I arrived home I checked teh coolant level which had dropped and i topped up with around 300ml of coolant to get back between min and max.



I am unsure of what the issue is, if something was done when the pipes were changed.



I took the car to the garage this morning and they advised me to get the coolant flushed out and see if there is still contamination.



Having read on the internet i have seen a lot about the Oil Cooler.



I also am unsure if the timing belt has been changed. The car has done 90k and is on a 54 plate.



Does anyone know where in the Leeds area is a good garage I could get this looked at and also what could be causing Oil to be in the water.

Rattle and warning light

Hi, I have a renault megane scenic dynamique 7 seater 1.9 d, recently there has been a rattling when I turn corners as of there is something rolling around in a compartment , (there isn't) the breaks are a little squeaky too , today the check emissions light came on but it's not affected the driving . Anyone have any ideas what it could be ? Many thanks

cabin blower doesn't work

I have disassembled the turbine-power package and have done the following:

1 - The turbine rotates well, without feed.

2 - I have 12V on the connector and the connector portion to the engine gives me no resistance.

q1. - You know if I will can repair or will have to change the set?

q2 -. Anybody will send me the spare parts?

q3. - It wears brushes?

q4.- Do any of you have or have had the same problem or know how to fix this fault?

I drive a Clio 02, Diesel - 1.5 dCi and I've been trying to get a working turbo for a wee while now!



I got one from my friend who bought it of eBay but it was faulty! So had to send it back :( I have checked the compatibility list at the bottom but I fear that I get the wrong one and spend even more money!



Is there a way of knowing exactly what turbo would fit my car?

My Daughter rang. Has an old Fiesta, husband & 3 teenagers, SO wants a bigger car.

I text back "to much to type, Ring me".

Lots of discussion including costs to repair Turbo, "it hasn't got one", she says, "kin has" I say.

Give me the reg No & I'll check. So off to ECP website with Reg No. NO Turbo fitted, coz it says 1.6 Petrol!:eek:

Apparently the Door trims say 1.5 dCi.

SO my question, has it been smashed, OR have they changed the trims so no-one notices the Diesel-Like dephaser rattle on start up?

Either way No 1 daughter ain't buying it. Her decision.

P.S. It was in Bakersfield. Notts if you wish to laugh / avoid.




Engine runs with unplugged MAP Sensor

Hi Guys,



I have a few issues but the main one is that I start the car and the engine cuts out after about 6 or 7 seconds, I have taken out and cleaned every sensor as I bought the car as a non runner but it is now running if I unplug the MAP sensor.



I have replaced the ECU, UCH, Steering Lock and Injectors (as there was a leak in injector number 2, exhaust gases were coming out, normal for a leak?) but it is running as above.



Anybody had the same issue?




DRL Bulb Replacement on Laguna Coupe 2010

Good afternoon,



One of my DRLs requires replacing on my Laguna Coupe, and not too sure where to start. The unit is different from the Laguna 3, with the DRL being a small bulb at 90 degrees inboard from the other bulbs.

There is a large plastic tray/panel that stretches from one headlight unit to the other and, to me, looks like it needs to be removed to access the DRL.

I'm loathed to pull on the clips as no doubt they'll break.

Do any of you fellow owners have any insight on how to replace these bulbs?

Parking brake

Parking brake not releasing

Hello there I have Renault - BLUE RENAULT MEGANE EXPRESSION 16V SCENIC Manual 1390cc.

When I park last night in drive way in the next day afternoon I try to drive, when I try to release the handbrake I couldn't , and say check parking brake and I left work when I came back I try again but same again.

then I released The handle in the boot ,thanks to NOttnoc guy.

Now it released but my question is, I when two garage wich they suggest that one think maybe because they have run diagnostics, what suggest is the control unit maybe is the promplem and they said is expensive!!!!

Or is the bads for this is cheap around £15,

Would any body know what to do before I take to the garage or what it cost before they said their analyses.

What does this pipe do? Its broken :(

I had a small knock yesterday and took out the driver side headlight. I've found a pipe that looks to have snapped off at the connection point to some kind of reservoir? In the picture you're looking down into the space that was filled by the driver side headlight. The green arrow points towards the snapped pipe. The red arrow points towards a fixed pipe that looks like its missing a flexi hose? Any idea what the pipes are for and how to fix it?

59 plate megane key card problems

Hi, its my first thread and I have searched for the ansa so please be nice :)

For past 4 weeks my drivers door wouldn't open, all others did as normal so just opened from inside. Low battery warning appeared so changed it and it stayed on and drives door still wouldn't open. Went out this morning nothing works so opened manually. Changed battery again no joy, it starts the car no problem but I now can't lock it as the manual lock only locks that door. Tried the lock button on dashboard makes the clicking noise but you can still open them :(



Any ideas please ta xx

Hello, I'm new here with a nice (sort of) blue Scenic as described in the signature. I've just returned to home from South Africa after 3 years contract. My other car is an Alfa which I hope is being shipped home shortly from Africa. But I'll likely sell that one.



Its done 137k in its time. Unfortunately it has no log book. Don't ask how much I paid for it:crazy:

unsure if my switch is right or now as the drivers switches does the drivers door window only go down a little bit or do i need to do something to it to make it go down fully as it takes 10 press's to make the window go down or up

Scenic RX4 broken gearbox (5´th gear)

Hello!



I was just about to shift to 5´th gear the other day when all I got was a scream in piched voice.... No drive att all.

The rest of thegears works properly and there is no extra noice so I read about the 5´th gear being in a seperate chamber and a bould could get loose and give almost this symptoms...today I have opend up and I cant see anything lose or broken?!

The only thing that is a bit suspicius in my opinion is the black plastic thing at the top....could it be this that is broken? I cant see what its purpose is since it is just pointing straight out and there are just tiny tiny bits of something black at the bottom om the cover.

Hi I am in need of help went along drive yesterday helping family members out but I have gone to use the car today and it started fine but I have no acceleration max 1200 rpm and loads of black smoke and eventually knocking getting louder.she is a mk2 Laguna,2.2 diesel, automatic, 120000 miles,any help much appreciated,I'm aware that the car is not worth a lot hence wanting to take into a garage and rack up a massive bill,just strange how ran perfect yesterday ,thanks again.




Glow plug light

turbo fault

When engine is running dash stop light and battery warning light keep flashing with audible beep. Diagnostic brought up turbo charger sensor fault open circuit or fault to earth. Has anybody any idea what fault can be.




No air to the cabin

Stripes up the machine to the upper stop.

In manual also can modify but the turbine does not rotate.

Time was malfunctioning automatic; but in manual up the stripes he started the engine and turbine air entering, but now nothing, not moving at all.

Do any of you have or have had the same problem or know how to fix this fault?

PLease Please Please help

car is driving me nuts , the turbo went on the wifes megan 2 tin roof convertible, 1.9dci . so had turbo done , now car is not performing right , lack of power , also says check injection on dash . I have tried 4 different maf , no difference , have also tried 2 turbo pressure sensor , no difference , have changes the glow plugs as was told that it could also be them , even though car starts fine , if you unplug the maf then drive the car , it performs as it should do , but as soon as you plug back in , it is usless , I have tried the cheap maf and also 2 original mafs , . im now at my wits end

2010 laguna III front wipers stop on fast speed

Hi all.

I have a 2010 laguna 3 and intermittently the front wipers will stop when on the fast speed. However if I switch to slow speed they start working fine. Has any one had this issue before. It sounds like a control unit fault but there are no fault codes stored and if I give the motor a slight tap it does start to work again which then makes me think it's a motor fault. However at 250 pounds it's not a certain guess I want to take. Any help would be great.




tensioner problems

I have just changed the auxiliary belt tensioner on my laguna 2.2 DCI which stopped the rattle in the belt and stopped the head lights dimming when ticking over all was good for 2 or 3 days but now the belt is getting noisy again and the lights are dimming again please help it's just one thing after another with this car at the moment




Renault Master 2.5 TD 1998 electronic throttle problem

Hi everyone I'm hoping someone out there has some idea on how I can fix this problem.

I have a Renault Master 2.5 TD ex ambulance which has a fly by wire throttle, but to get any power I have to push the throttle half way down before the rev's will increase it then rev's quite high, I've tried disconnecting the turbo gate actuator but when I did I had no throttle at all and had to reconnect it, I can only imagine that the fly by wire system has a fault....

Can anyone please help me, I'm desperate to get it fixed as I've almost finished converting it to a nice Camper. :crazy: its making me :crazy:




Engine Management light on 02 2.2dci espace

I've recently replaced the TDC sensor and the camshaft sensor because of the usual conking out and refusing to start which has thankfully been cured. Unfortunately I have now developed a different fault. I initially felt the turbo was lagging more than usual so cleaned the EGR and this has now largely cleared although there doesn't seem to be as much boost. If we're pootling about the problem doesn't occur and it hadn't done it for a few weeks because I hadn't had it up to motorway speed. All of a sudden at between 70 and 80 mph the turbo stops providing boost and the power drops. The heartbeat light flashes up and the turbo refuses to kick back in. Stopping and switching the engine off usually resets the problem and it can run fine for between 3 minutes to 3 weeks without recurring. Hi I picked up my Laguna Intiale 06 plate the other week ...all singing all dancing ....tonight the esp check light came on also instead of the front tyres reading 2.1 on the front and 1.9 on the back it now reads 2.4 front and 2.0 on the back ...has the tyre preasure made this warning come on?

Clonking noises when starting 2003 Laguna Expression 1.8 16V

Hi,

I have just replaced the clutch and drive shafts on my 2003 Laguna II 1.8 16V petrol car and when I came to start it I got a horrible grating and clonking noises whilst the starter was engaged, but all went quiet once the engine had started. After attempts at re-seating the starter motor, I realised that a bracket had got trapped in the top of the bell-housing so there was a few millimetres gap at the top and I deduced that this was causing the flange behind the starter motor pinion to make contact with the back of the flywheel (there was evidence of scratching on the flange).

Feeling confident that I had found the cause of the problem, I slackened off the bell-housing and cleared the obstruction, making sure that it all seated properly when re-tightened. However, to my dismay, I still get loud clonking noises when the starter motor is turning, though some of the scraping noises have gone.

The starter motor is not in the best condition, with quite a lot of wear on the pinion, but it wasn't making a lot of noise before I started the job. I could get another one, but the noises don't sound like you would expect from a starter motor, even though they only occur whilst the motor is running.

The new clutch is working fine and I only fitted a two piece clutch Kit, so didn't disturb the flywheel.

I would be very grateful for any advice as to what might be making the noise.

Why!!?? These are definitely correct its just not having any of it.

Just sold my Glacier White Full Fat 200 for a 9 month old 200T.



Really happy with it, so refined and comfortable then an absolute animal when you floor it, the gearbox is something else too.



I'm off out to Nurburgring on Wednesday too so I need to get used to this one quickly, wasnt planning on buying it but it was too good to miss for the deal I got, every option ticked, 4 plus package, and a cracking deal on my old 200.

Trafic -top of McPherson strut play

Decided to tackle these bearings today as MOT advisory. Couple of kits came in the post.



My trafic is an 08 so I suspect the parts hadn't been off since the factory. Even so it was hellish. The anti roll bar link was too corroded for the Allen key. The strut connecting bolts fought me, two six sided sockets and two 3 foot extension bars all the way from the first turn to the last. Plus gas made the impossible possible but going to have to replace links now as well.



Reminds me why I hate suspension work! !

decided my beautiful 07 initiale needed some new rear shocks.got a pair of anschler quite reasonable and arranged for my garage man to fit them. original shocks in from new got them out and the new bottom mount bush that fits into the axle was too small, not by that much but he said they would rattle so he put the old ones back in. anyone had a similar problem

Strange fan-like noise in a Kangoo - any thoughts?

I don't really know how to describe this fault so I'll simply write down as much info as I can in the hope it rings a bell with someone:



// 2006 Kangoo 1.5 DCi (car). Runs fine, starts fine, drives fine., no smoke, really lively etc etc.



In the past week or so a strange whirring noise can be heard - not at first starting and not all the time, but often after about 15 minutes driving and most noticeably when stationery / at traffic lights etc. Interestingly the pitch of the noise alters when the steering wheel is turned and it can get to the point of being quite loud.



On stopping the car and turning off the ignition the noise "spins down" like a fan getting slower and stops altogether after a few seconds. Come back to the car after 10 minutes, start it up and no noise is heard.



This happens on cold wet days like today or hot days. No dashboard warning lights, temperature gauge shows normal etc.



I'm stumped! Does anyone have any ideas? Or things I can try to diagnose the fault?

Parking brake not releasing

Hello there I have Renault - BLUE RENAULT MEGANE EXPRESSION 16V SCENIC Manual 1390cc.

When I park last night in drive way in the next day afternoon I try to drive, when I try to release the handbrake I couldn't , and say check parking brake and I left work when I came back I try again but same again.

Would any body know what to do before I take to the garage or what it cost if is what I can't do it.

megane dci compression test question.

I want to carry out a compression test on my 1.9 dci prior to removing the head to determine which piston has low compression.



I have done loads of compression tests on petrol engines but not on a dci.



I have an adapter to fit the glow plug hole and will remove all four glow plugs and unplug the fuel regulator on the pump. Do I need to remove the injector electrical conections as well.



The main question is regarding turning the engine over as all prior cars I have tested use an ignition key. Once I start the engine cranking with the starter button how do I stop it, do I just push the button again.

New clutch fitted

I have just had a new clutch and dual mass flywheel fitted and there is no pressure in the pedal once the car is idle for long periods. I have to pump the pedal for about a minute to build up the pressure and it's fine while I'm driving. Took the car back to the garage and the mechanic said it needed time to bed in and also bled it but said he only got a little air out of it. The next day, the exact same happened. It's going back to the garage on Monday to do some fault finding, but I'm beginning to think it needs a thorough bleed or there's a potential leak somewhere.



Has anyone else experienced the same problem?




Body Control Unit faulty?

Symptoms :


  • drivers door not unlocking when the others do even pressing lock/unlock buttons on card



  • occasionally get 4 beeps when opening drivers door when it has unlocked normally



  • wipers behaving erratically - LH one started jamming a week ago - vertically against LH front pillar, RH has started doing same. Both wipers not jamming in use. Warranty co. had me take it to garage who replaced LH wiper motor, no fix.




Suspect all these are linked & probably by the body control unit. Can an expert offer an opinion?



My local Renault dealer can't do diagnostics on a weekend (no master technician available apparently), so I'm only allowed to have a fault Mon-Fri!! If anyone knows an independent garage in the Nottingham (UK) area who can run proper diagnostics on the BCU I'd be grateful.

Cars and computing history(mine)

Its not strictly true ,but for thread purposes my first car was a mid 70's well used Audi 80.



It had a "computer" diagnostic socket!

This was a socket maybe 3 in x 2 in with a flip top cap.

Its effectiveness must have been fairly minimal as everything of any interest on the car was mechanical.

Good sales gimmick maybe



mid 80's to mid 90's any computery stuff seemed to have died off except in connection with mechanical or electronic fuel injection.



Mid 90's basicchips in cars until now,seems you cant scratch your nose without uch/ecu intervention :(



In comparative terms the computers and os on new cars is still basic compared to general usage.

Its now wrapped up in secrecy and electronic voodoo..individual car owners get left ignorant..there is no self tune, without a lot of research, no more popular car mechanics/move distributor slightly or all that .



For those of us who wanna get bang for buck, its probably why tuning boxes are popular on diesel engines.The nyah nyah effect.



Price of extended guarantees I suppose.

We make it hard for you to stress our products,we extend your guarantee.



I hope it doesnt get too restrictive. In 20 years time(when fossil fuel burners are illegal :) )

New guy from Lancashire

Hi all,

I'm new on here, but not to Renaults. My first car was a Dauphine in the 60's, so rusty that I had to run separate wires back to the battery. Finally sold it after I was changing the front wheel and the jack went through the chassis and dented the rear end of a young lady I was trying to impress (pardon the pun!!)

Lived in France for a while in the late 70's and early 80's.Started with a 14 and then bought the boss's 20 - wonderful car. Then back to the UK and company cars including a 25 - another great machine.



Just bought a 60 reg Scenic Dynamique Tomtom 1.4 diesel with 20K on the clock.Just getting used to the sixth gear and starting for get better MPG as a result. It is f***ing complicated, and I'm still trying to figure out how to leave the windows ajar so the dog doesn't fry without her triggering the alarm.



Found this place after trying to mail Renault for an answer and found they don't do that sort of thing other than on a premium rate phone line.

Laguna III - wrong jack?

Hi All,



I've recently bought a 2011 Laguna Estate & am just working my way through the defects that I didn't spot when I bought it!



My current problem is when I tried to use the jack. I assumed it would be similar to the Laguna II we used to have, where the jack has a slot that the jacking point fits into.



The jack with the new car has a sort of rounded bump on the top, yet the the sills look like the old car.



Can anyone describe what the jack should look like?



The car doesn't have a spare wheel, so I wondered if the wrong jack has been added?

1.5 dci smoking after engine rebuild

hi all

just spent a fortune having my 54 scenic 1.5dci repaired. had new alternator, new timing belt kit, replacement recondition cylinder head, 4 replacement injectors, new oil filter & fuel filter.

had it back on the road for a week and its started to smoke heavily intermittently. starts and runs like a dream I get to the traffic lights in a morning about half a mile away and when I set off theirs billowing smoke hanging round me as I drive away like a scene from james bond. after that it does it on and off all day. had a search and am going to clean the egr tomorrow and if that doesn't work gonna look at flushing engine but have read conflicting advice on doing it. any advice would be appreciated. thanks




clio MK2 o/s window problems

clio 2 phase 1 x reg central locking problem

Hi all, i have a remote central locking problem. I got the car in november and the remote locking worked, then in janurary it stopped working. Now i manually lock each door as it wont lock both doors or boot manually either. The button inside next to the cig lighter locks and unlocks all doors and boot fine. In Febuary the car wouldnt start, had new battery put in fob and starts fine now, but still remote locking wont work. Ive read about the sensor next to the sunroof but mines a manual sunroof with no sensor.



What could the problem be? Please help.

kangoo (2011) car Front wipers!!

Can someone please tell me how to change the two front wiper blades on my Kangoo 2011 1.5 Diesel? The hand book description is nothing like the ones that are on the actual car! The blades don't look like standard ones (flat type?). The bit that connects the blade to the arm has a long (1.1/2") 'nose' and the blade seems to be held with a pin. I know that the Kangoo cars were not imported by Renault after 2012 -does this mean I have a wiper set from another Renault? The car was bought new.(only 18K on the clock now)

Process of removing rear crankshaft seal on a 53plate megane 1.9dci

Hi,

Ive been having a problem with the clutch slipping on my megane II 1.9dci, from second gear onwards when the engine warms up but weirdly never slips in first or when cold and has been sitting for a while. This coupled with a slight drip of oil at the bottom of the bell housing has lead me to believe the rear crankshaft seal is leaking. My question is can this seal be replaced when i get the clutch done or is it an engine out job? Many thanks.




Washer pump not working.

Hi there all,



I've just noticed when pulling back the wiper lever to squirt fluid on the windscreen it doesn't work,



There isn't even a noise that the pump is trying to work, I've filed up the tank so I know that there is washer fluid in there.



Does this sound like a new pump is needed? I have had a look around for a pump for the 98 Renault magane, but trying to locate where that pump is seems to be a nightmare.



Anyone else has this issue? Just trying to get some advice before I do purchase the new pump or try to locate where it is to change it.

Chirping Noise Help Please

Hi there all,



I have a 98 Renault Megane and over the last week or so ive noticed a cricket type chirping noise, It sounds like its coming from underneath the car but then I think it might be under the bonnet, So a little confused.



I usually only notice it after the car has been driven for 15-20 minutes.



Hoping someone might of had this issue to help diagnose what it might be.

2005 Grand Scenic Auto Gearbox Fault

Hi everyone, Having purchased this used car only last Wednesday it developed this fault today. The dash showed Gearbox Fault along with Electronic Fault. The gearbox would not move out of first gear. I also had the service sign come on. I stopped the car shut everything off and contacted my local garage. Its was just less than a mile away so turned the engine over engaged drive and guess what-Worked fine with no apparent problems. My guess is that something is going on with a sensor but its now in for repair under warranty. Does anyone know what this might be and will the cars computer show it as a fault when the garage hooks it up to the computer. Any help/advice would be most welcome.

Electronic Parking Break

Hi, Was wondering if any one who has had issues with their E.P.B., ever lost use of their reverse lights and sensors?

Are both of these separate circuits working off the reverse switch on the gear box, or just one circuit?

Is there a relay that works this circuit? if so where would I find it?

Please fellow Renault Owners/ Mech's etc, any pointers?:confused:

hi guys , not really a solution type of question , its a hit & hope someone can verify or not type question , & its this ; got my megane dynamique 1.5 eco 10 plate , now after only having it 4 days notice a noise when depressing the clutch not a loud noise but a noise nevertheless , so i take back to dealership & to cut a long story short , 3 visits later i get the call after the respectful dealers cannot fix or even get to the source of the problem even after replacing bearings ,cylinders,clutch set etc & took it up to Renault dealers & the response i got absolutely stunned me, dealers said Renault say its just a characteristic of this particular model & nothing can be done about it ,plus they have another model of same age ,spec etc in their forecourt which seemingly produces the same noise!

so along i go see guy & right enough i press the clutch & makes a whirring, rattly noise ,very similar if not worse than mine , so can anyone with any knowledge of this FAULT (as i described it to guy in dealers,a fault not characteristic) or have even heard anything remotely connected to a fault regarding the clutch system in the megane eco dynamique mk3 1.5 diesel ? i,d be really appreciative if you could enlighten me on this information or any clue as to what 3 visits to a very respectable dealers & a Renault garage could not find or fix!!

A bit grubby around the edges

Hi everyone, I joined nearly 3 years ago but don't think I posted here. As I have been scuffing around on here and lurking I feel a bit grubby around the edges and can't really call meself a newbie.



I recently sought advice about the wife's Clio and the pathetic excuse for what are normally called windscreen washers. Got it sorted by shaving the valve.



As a family we have owned many Renaults. At one time we had 4 Clios, I had a Cup 172, wife and son had Mk1's and daughter had a Mk2. Wife now has a Mk2 and I have a Megane 54 plate. I really love it. For a 1.4 it really don't go too bad. Obviously nowhere near the 172, but it is comfortable (something the Cup certainly was not, but you kid yourself that the performance is everything!) The wife mostly refused to go in it, especially in the back (to sit - nothing else:d)

Reason why im asking is r lass has put a nice dent n scrape along the sill.

Im good at spraying but never done any dent repair work.

I know the rx4 has flared wing/arches but will the side skirts fit on a scenic???

megane steering loud cracking noise

car makes a very loud cracking noise when steering lock to lock no noise when jacked up no noise if I had to guess sounds like crack in the sub frame if you hold the steering rack u can feel it then got rack off and sub frame cant see any cracks???? any ideas anyone oh its an 05 petrol cheers

Laguna 2 bonnet cable snapped

Hi, can anyone help me with a way to open the bonnet on my 2001 Laguna 2. The bonnet cable is not working, I have taken the release lever off and it works at that end so presume its snapped at bonnet end but i cant open the bonnet to check.

Does anyone know how to open the bonnet from underneath or in front????

Renault Scenic 1.9 dci 2007 DPF removed without software remap

Hi all,



This is my first time to ask on this forum so apologies if I repeat some of the issues.



I have Renault Scenic 2007 1.9 dci and have had DPF/FAP filter problems every couple of months.



Normally I take my car for a drive on the motorway and this solves the problem but this last time it didn't help. After an hour of driving I got Check Injection message and the car started driving very slowly.



I decided to remove the DPF filter which I did without having software re-map. I now have Check Emissions message on my dashboard which I can ignore but my car still doesn't run as good as it used to. It runs better than when the DPF filter was blocked but not as good as I remember it before the filter was blocked.



Do you think that I if I do ECU software re-map that would help or this has nothing to do with the car performance?



Please help...I love my car :)

Is it normal for the clutch to be uncomfortably heavy

And when I press the clutch a noise appears from the engine bay but does not disgruntle engine revs or performance



Your thoughts would be appreciated

It is under warranty from the garage but if this is normal i will not waste my time booking in

Immobiliser Bypass on a 51 Megane diesel?

Is there any way to bypass the immobiliser on a 51 plate 1.9 megane diesel?

The missus' car won't start and I want to remove this as a possible cause before I start spending cash.




No start after new injector fitted after popping up and damaging cable

08 vivaro 2.0 130.00 on the clock.



Hi. Had 4 injectors fitted last year, all fine till last week when I was driving home the van lost all power and would not start did turn over, I striped the engine and found that the number 2 injector had popped out and ripped the thread on the bolt holding the injector in and also as the bolt came up it than short circuit the 2 wires on the number 1 cylinder has the conection was above the bolt. Put helicoils in and new injector as the over fuel pipe snapped off too, but the same codeing injector in (0.15). But now the van still won't start.No codes are listed on the memory.carnt see any fuses have gone,tried to check if voltage is at any of the injectors when being started but no voltage on the meter,tried to start the van with only 3 injectors,have primed the fuel bulb..no joy. Please help. Cheers




Problems with my 1.5L 2003 Renault kangoo?

My 2003 dci Renault kangoo has a few problems. The speedo has a mind of it's own, I can be driving and all of a sudden it will completely stop working and drop down to 0mph. When this happens the miles on the clock dint go up and the van becomes very jerky when I touch the accelerator . Also, having problems starting it in the mornings takes 3 or 4 turns of the key, HELP ME! Thanks




Heater problems

about 6 months ago, water started coming out of my carpet. My mechanic told me that my heater had failed even though it continued to operate normally. He disconnected the heater and all seemed fine (although now I don't have a functioning car heater). Now the water in my water tank is overheating and or I have to fill up my water tank everyday. Please advise on two things :

1. Is his diagnosis correct as I feel that the heater still works and he has misdiagnosed the problem

2. Where can I procure my own heating unit as I feel that it's better I procure my own parts and allow him to fit them.:crazy:



It's almost winter in South Africa and the thought of driving in such cold weather with no heater is driving me up the wall.:crazy:




renualt espace 2ltr

Hi I have a renualt espace 2ltr 2004 any time I drive it the van belt over heats and starts to melt and the signals on my dash says stop any1 got any ideas why this is happing




Two new coils

My wife called the Rac out this morning for her 03 Scenic and was told that she needed two new coils, now I know that they are prone to failure and don't have any problem with this part of the diagnosis. The problem I have though is that he blamed this failure on a low oil level. Is this possible ?




Engine swap

Hi,



I have just swapped my knackered 1.5Dci engine for a newer engine, which was supplied complete including ECU, full wiring loom, and all ancillaries.



My mechanic has completed the "transplant" and fitted everything back as it should be, this included fitting the ECU that came with the replacement engine.



The engine turns over, fuel is getting through, glow plugs are heating up as you would expect, injectors are all working fine, but the engine will not fire up.



The code reader is recognising the injectors that came with the replacement engine, so that would indicate that there is no fault at that end, so where is the fault?



Is it that the engine ECU is not communicating with the main OB ECU, does the whole thing need to be re-programmed and if so, is this an expensive job?



Any help would be most welcome as I hope that I am coming to the end of what has been a six month journey to put right all that was wrong with a 1.5Dci van in "apparently lovely condition" that I bought from a rogue dealer.

Megane III coupe key scratch

The title speaks for itself....so this morning I saw approximately 20 cm long scratch made with car keys on passenger doors...the scratch got through the first layer of paint...Is there any other way to fix it or make it less visible that it doesn't include a paint job? ...also if I can fix it what is the best thing to use....Stickerfix,aeorosol or anything else?

Scenic 2 inner tie rod removal support

Hi

I just need some guidance on whether or not I need to support the steering rack whilst loosening the inner tie rod. (drivers side)

I dont want to get the renault tool due to cost / availability and also due to the fact I'll probably never use it again.

I have noticed on the forums a couple of members seem to have done this job, I am confident I can complete it myself, its just the removing bit that concerns me as I dont want to bend / damage the rack.

Any advice would be great!

Megane Mk3 parking sensors

I have a set of after market parking sensors to fit to the good lady's megane and was wondering what the two plugs behind the left hand side of the boot are for. Would one be for the OEM parking sensors and one for tow bar electrics? If so can I somehow use these to get the live feed for my sensors?

I have just swapped my knackered 1.5Dci engine for a newer engine, which was supplied complete including ECU, full wiring loom, and all ancillaries.



My mechanic has completed the "transplant" and fitted everything back as it should be, this included fitting the ECU that came with the replacement engine.



The engine turns over, fuel is getting through, glow plugs are heating up as you would expect, injectors are all working fine, but the engine will not fire up.



The code reader is recognising the injectors that came with the replacement engine, so that would indicate that there is no fault at that end, so where is the fault?



Is it that the engine ECU is not communicating with the main OB ECU, does the whole thing need to be re-programmed and if so, is this an expensive job?



Any help would be most welcome as I hope that I am coming to the end of what has been a six month journey to put right all that was wrong with a 1.5Dci van in "apparently lovely condition" that I bought from a rogue dealer.

Renault Master van history

Hi all, my first post so hope I've landed amongst friends.



I have a 1986 Renault Master T35 van, 2445cc diesel 5 speed - that's all it says on the V5 document - so I'm trying to find out more about identifying it as hard to get correct spares for it as there seems to be conflicting specs around.



Firstly I am told that 1986 models never had a turbo - but mine does! Also parts retailer keeps telling me it must be a 2499cc. It was originally an Ambulance for 4 years up until 1990 when it was professionally converted by Classical Conversions into a camper van and they called it a T35D 8 - what the 8 means I don't know.



Any ideas where I might look to track down details of the history of the Mk1 Master? Could it have had a turbo (or turbo engine) added later? Were the ambulance specs different?

Black Smoke, Engine Reving off the clock!! please help!!

New to the forum, so I'll take this opertunity to say hello and ask for help.



Any suggestions on what may of caused my Megane 1.9 TDI estate to Rev off the clock and throw exstreme amounts of jet black smoke.



The only way I could stop this was to pull onto the hard shoulder and stall the car.



The car restarted and I managed to get it onto my driveway where it has stayed since after being dropped home by the helpful recovery service.



I am assuming the turbo has gone, but wondering if anything else may of caused the failure :confused:

MK3 Clio DCI, EGR Clean?

My 2007 dci clio has now a little over 80k miles on the clock and is running very well, so I'm grateful for that.



I was just wondering should the egr be cleaned proactively or wait until it gives an issue, sleeping dogs and all that...

Newbie with fault please help

Hi,

My name is Gray and I need help with an annoying fault on my Megane (2013).

Recently the "stop/start unavailable" is being displayed more and more often.

it doesn't seem to follow any of the "expected parameters" ie. temp etc.

As expected the local Ren garage have no idea, and state that it is "probably" due to a low battery voltage, which I don't agree with.

I know it seems to be a common issue, but has anyone actually found out what the issue is, and is there a resolution?.

exhasut clamp where cat meets middle box

guys when fitting them daft half moon type clamps on the megane exhaust where the cat joins middle box/pipe is there a proper way round they go? as mines still got a slight blow from the join and the nuts are as tight as they go.. or are you supposed to use some exhaust paste?




Megane dashbord not working

This morning my dash fail to come on the car starts ok and to drive ok but nothing working on dash but then when I got to work switch off and back on again it all came back on but was flashing now and again



Any ideas what this could be??

Whats needed to replace clutch? Megane II 1.4

Hi all



As title says what's exactly needed to replace the clutch in my Megane II 03 1.4? Ive replaced the clutch in my little cinq' dozens of times (Milk bottle tops are bigger) and a few in other cars but never with a hydraulic system.



When ive sourced a clutch ive always just got a three piece kit, release bearing, pressure plate, friction plate.



But the question is if i source the same again for my Megane is that enough? Is there anything different for the hydraulic system that should also be replaced? Its just when Googleing if found references to 'Concentric slave cylinder'. Is that just the equivalent of the release fork (forgive my lack of knowing proper names) that the cable would connect to?

2002 Laguna 2l IDE

Hi all



I have just purchased a 2002 Laguna 2.0l IDE. For some reason, the Outside Temp doesn't seem to be displaying on the display on the top dashboard where the radio/tyre sensor details are shown. The rest of the display works fine.



Does anyone know what could cause this and how I could repair it? Also would the lack of temp display have any negative affect on the Air Con which seems to be working fine.

More for multi gx card users,or at least separate gx card users:

I find msi afterburner still the best gx card tuner especially in sli for all nvidia chipped card suppliers.



It is a now a "paid solely by us", variation of an earlier nvidia freeby tuner and can push the card/s as little or as much as your system can take.

nb with nvidia driver upgrades your system may default to single card operation ,so check sli is enabled if you have more than one gx card, after a driver update.




Kangoo - Removal of black rear light trim - how please?

1999 Renault Kangoo. Anybody have an idea how I remove the black plastic trim that surrounds the rear lights? I simply wish to spray it to bring it back to life a little.



Have done the rear bumper and it came up a treat.

grand scenic II 1.9dci clutch stopped working

hey guys im really hopping someone can help me.

I brought a 2004 grand scenic 1.9 dci a while ago had a few problems but none of them with the clutch until today.

I went out today all was fine all the time I was driving then I went to pull away and it was almost like the clutch cable snapped even tho I don't have one, it was fine 1min then no clutch and no pressure on the pedal altho the pedal was returning up,

so I thought a leak in the slave or master but checked and all was fine and levels still at max.



had a look on the side of the road and found a spring had snapped in the clutch pedal assembly.

looks like a return spring but would this stop my clutch from working? as the pedal is still lifting up?

No Clutch Pressure When Cold

Hey Guys



I have a Laguna Mk2 2.2dci with a 6 Speed box



when the car is cold it will not go into any gear at all, to get start you need to turn the car of, put the into gear then turn on and drive. Also there is next to no travel on the clutch pedal. after 4 or 5 miles or about 20mins of driving its normal no problems at all. Very smooth on all changes no noises clinks or anything,you also have full travel on the clutch pedal also.. It is puzzling me any advise on what it is?

Clutch problem Laguna II

Hi All,



I have a problem that appeared earlier tonight on my Laguna II 2.0 dci, with auto handbrake. Was driving and grot to traffic lights, and changed gear. Had vibration from clutch pedal. Moved off and had a faint whining noise which went as soon as I touched pedal.



Lost all gears whilst on way home, only managed to engage gears after about 5 minutes of pumping clutch pedal.



Never made it home, got to friends that was nearer. Someone had a quick look and said it might be clutch cable. Any ideas people,

Espace with no power and no acceleration, a month in the garage and they cant fix it

I have a 1.9dci Espace 2005.

Turbo went a couple of months ago and got a recon one fitted and all was fine. Then the car started to lose power now and again but it I changed up a gear then the problem would clear.

One evening it started to happen a lot until it went into go slow mode and wont go up the slightest incline and will barely accelerate. Turbo Checked ok, new EGR fitted, timing checked, cat/exhaust checked for blockages and no error codes. Its been in the local garage for a month and today they told me they just don't know what is wrong with it. Any advice would be good. Thanks.




Renault Trafic 2L diesel 2007

Help!

I have just purchased a Renault Trafic Van which has been converted into a Camper. I got it from a private seller. Before I paid for it I took it out for a test drive but it was only a short distance.

I now have the vehicle at home and when I drove it properly i found that the engine missed (like if you have dirty fuel in the tank) At the same time the stop light and oil light flashed on briefly and then went off

When i accelerated up to 65mph the engine lost its power and although my foot was pressed right down, there was nothing. When i took my foot off the accelerator and put it back on, it worked again but only briefly, until I slowed down.

I have had it serviced and the fuel filters changed, but this has not solved the problem.

I have now spoken to a renault garage and they have said it might a broken fuel pipe or worse case scenario, it could be the Injectors. If its the latter it will cost between £1500 - £2000. As you can imagine i am really worried

Has anyone any advice or guidance

Grand Scenic 3, 1.9dci FAP Poor MPG possible solution

Hi all,



I currently have a 2011 Grand Scenic 1.9DCI FAP and have been struggling with what I thought was poor MPG.



After a full tank to tank comparison and driving 488.7 miles I filled the car with 52L of Diesel and the car reports back a MPG of around 36-37 but actually works out to 42.7. After a brief conversation in the office this morning someone asked if it was possible the car was using US gallons ( I had never consider this before) after a brief calculation I work it out to be 36MPG using US gallons. I haven't had chance to look into this further yet but wondered if anyone else had found this?



And I suppose the other question is that if it is the case is there a way of changing it without a trip to the dealer?

laguna 2 window problem

my passenger window has stopped working properly. it opened the other night but when i tried to close it it stopped about 3 1/2 inches from the bottom. if i try to open it again it goes down about 1 1/2 inches and stops. it will go up and down within these measurements but will not close fully or open fully so i am left with the window nearly fully open to the elements. have read the posts regarding window probs but none are like my problem. anyone got any ideas as to my problem. i guess the electrics to it are ok otherwise it wouldnt move at all. are there any relays anywhere for it?

Throttle position sensor/pedal sensor?

I have a fault with my laguna, Ive already discovered that (as the late 2005 model) it seems to have different parts on it, egr, boost sensor, pressure controller, brake light switch... all different (they are 2006 version).



Anyway, I have pulsating acceleration on my car now, its been suggested its either the throttle position sensor or pedal sensor...this was by two different people.



Can anyone point me in the direction of either? where they are located (i assume pedal is, erm, on the pedal??), what to look for... etc.



Its basically so I can find part numbers for replacements as I always seem to order via reg plate and end up with the wrong piece!



Anyway, if theres a thread (that I cant seem to find) with pictures etc then that would be awesome!

Espace 2005 starting problem / reduced engine power

Hello, recently my Renault Espace 3.0 (diesel) has a problem to start the engine and sometimes also get a problem with reduced engine power. Problem with starting that after pressing start/stop button engine is trying to start (so battery is ok), but it doesn't start. I just hear that the battery tries to start it but without success. After pumping diesel to the engine (with small black rubber pump) it eventually starts. So it seems that somehow the diesel returns back to the fuel tank. Another problem is with loosing engine power. Sometimes happens, that the speed reduces so significantly that the car barely get 50km/h. I was already several times in renault service and paid them over 600 euros (totally) but they didn't find anything. I suppose they don't perform any deep analysis of the car - the diagnostic doesn't show anything and the car itself doesn't shows any problems on the dashboard so they are not able to check anything without any indication. Any suggestions what can be cause of the problems? Both problems (starting and reduced power) are random. Sometimes they occur after 1h parking, sometimes after a week of using the car. Together with those problem also the average diesel consumption raises by 1.5-2L/100km

swopped the head over all great then the injectors not so great 2 packed up long story short defiantly the injectors 2 going at the same time :crazy:

the problem is apart from new they are like gold dust for the 1.5dci any one have any links for 2nd hand ones or have any sitting the shed

Clio 1.5 Dci 2003 - key resync using central lock button

Hi



I have just dug out my spare key and it's not doing anything - won't unlock the central locking or even start the car manually.



I've replaced the battery and still nothing. I've read on here the steps to resync - turn ignition off, press central locking button for 5 seconds, etc, etc.



However my problem is that holding the central locking button down doesn't do anything, other than lock the car. I'm using the button in tyhe centre near the radio - is that correct?

I'm posting on behalf of my sister who owns a clio dynamique 07,

Her engine sounds terrible when its started, sounds alot like the cam belt but its fine, being an apprentice mechanic i know the cam belt is fine, but the engine sounds absolutley awful, it really does sound like a transit, do we know what this is? just wanted to see if anyone else had had the same, also when she travelled to work she could not go over 50 and the acceleration was poor, is this down to the air fuel mixture and the pistons?

Brake Pedal Hiss when pressed down

Hi all,



as the title says, when I press the brake pedal (engine is running) I hear a hiss sound coming from the passengers side. Is this normal? This hiss sound was always there. I am asking as last week as I driving the car and I heard a two beeps. An error was displayed 'BRAKING FAULT'. When I went to check the messages I found nothing.



What does this error mean and if the hiss sound is normal?

espace mk3 2.2 diesel 1998

I've been getting a airbag fault for ages now I've tried soldering the wires under the seat but it stays on I've changed the airbag ECU now it starts says OK then after about a minute it comes on again then says sevice then goes off any ideas ??




clio all fixed

ive fixed all my problems with a simple fix , ok i;ll start at the begining. a few months ago my 2004 clio 1.2 16v started to cut out and go in to limp home mode at very random times . with my engine management light and my electric fault light on olso . so got ot my comp and scand motor and got 3 sensor codes cant remember them but was the ones that everyone else was getting , so replaced them think one was my gas pedel and crank sensor. car ran fine for a couplaf weeks thenstarted again, so out came the comp again and got the same 3 codes , so i started checking wires and plugs under the bonnet ,checking a few then took car for run checked some more and so on . nothing then i checked the relays under the plastic just below the battery , took them all out one at a time and reseated them and my car has ran like a dream since not one problem . so if your car has any of the 3 faults give it a try , just might work

ps let me know if anyone manages to fix there clio

Panoramic sunroof intermittent

Evening everyone!



I have noticed very recently that my electric panoramic sunroof is very intermittent, quite frustrating!



When I open it, it is very slow to open, but when I go to close the sunroof, it staggers to the end and sometimes goes back to where it originally was!



I have tried WD40 as it hadn't been open in a while, but this didn't make a difference.



I tried opening closing whilst at a stand still and whilst driving, I have a 2006 Clio III.



Hope someone can help!




Lag 2 won't turnover.....

Went to put fuel in earlier, got back in car, dipped clutch, pressed button,nothing! Message on dash still telling me to press button, each time I did, nothing. Luckily was on a gradient, rolled it 20 yds and bumped started immediately, no error messages or warnings and ran sweet for the 30 miles back to my destination. Came out later (by this time it was dark) and same again, dashboard lights did not dim when pressing button, so rolled it a few yards and it bumped again, headlamps came straight on, all electrics working fine, got it home, turned it off and same again-this one ain't going away on its own, any pointers please as I need to get it sorted tomorrow as car is pretty much useless right now!
