Scenic III TCE 130 Service Schedule Plan

Hi all,



Hoping for some advice, I appreciate this isnt engine specific but I've just purchased a Scenic III TCE 130 Petrol, 47k, 5.5 years old, 4 service stamps to date, 5th due at 6 years I guess.



As with buying any used car I'm mindful of any upcoming costs, so I asked the dealer if I could see the scheduled service plan to understand what items will be required at the next service, but they fobbed me off saying they couldn't produce the manual.



Could someone in the know and with access to the cars manual possibly tell me whats coming up at the 6 year service?



As the car comes with a cam chain I'm not anticipating anything too major but i'd like to know for sure before I hand over my money.

2010 Clio Radio Removal

Hi all,



I need to gain access to the back of the radio unit to fit wires for a sub and amp. Now I've got the radio most of the way out but the wires in the back are preventing full removal.

Rather than just yanking it out, is there a way of removing the glove box to gain access to the back of the unit? I've been looking for ages but found only one screw and it doesn't seem to free it up any.

majorly need some help

Hi guys, I've recently just bought a 2002 Clio 1.2 16v expression. Give it a quick once over seemed okay bought it nice and cheap and not to my suprise it is loaded with issues.



Now I've recently just passed my test (again after being banned) reason being is due to a new member of the family on the way. So I bought what I thought was a decent car for the price to my horror its not.



I've been out and bought a new Ignition coil and crank sensor as i know they are common issues and as i started to look at everything today couldn't help but notice that water pump has gone as theres an awful lot of water pouring from it (2-3ltrs in like 30 seconds came out) the front bumper won't stay on and it's showing an electric fault.



I'm hoping i can find some kind hearted people to help me out. I do have money just not an awful lot and I really need to get this car on the road. I know its a big ask, but please can anybody help me?

Megane 1.5 dci FAP 110 EDC - air in fuel pipes!

Hi,



I just got a used Megane (110 hp) 30K miles, end of 2010 production. I did drive it a bit around town and noticed it spends a lot of fuel. That was not the least of my concerns as the first time i took a longer ride after about 25 minutes the car started loosing power (cutting off) and after doing that on and off for about a minute it showed me "engine failure hazard" sing :banghead . So I stopped, got the car to the dealer and they fixed it in about 2-3 hours. They told me it was the fuel filter that caused air to go in in the fuel lines. I do remember seeing air bubbles in the fuel lines. The car runs smoothly for now, but I still see air bubbles there. I did about 50 miles and the bubbles still appear when i press the accelerator pedal in neutral and sometimes one or two of them "float" in the fuel pipes. I am afraid it is going to happen again, although the service guy told me it is a normal residue after filter change.



The other thing is I barely get 29mpg in town drive (with about 35% of ride in 50-60 mph limit roads). I know i do a lot of short rides so the engine does not warm up properly, but the place i live is flat, and the traffic is not horrible. I really try to be light on the pedal so this just feels way too much for such a tiny engine that actually has decent(ish) power.



Anyone had similar experience? I could use any advice, as i payed some good money on lightly used car in hopes to avoid this kind of problems and so far i think i will never buy a Renault in my life again.




1.9dci cambelt change guide

I can not for the life of me find a cambelt change guide for my 2000 laguna 1.9dci, i'm very experienced with mechanics and did work on all my cars and this will be the first time i've ever touched a cambelt as the other cars were chain driven.



i do have a haynes but just seeing if someone has a better way or better guide.



my understanding so far is



now this is jumping straight ahead to the job without mentioning taking the wheel off engine mount etc etc.

----------------

lock the flywheel

----------------

undo the crankshaft bolt and take pulley off

----------------

fit the bolt back and turn the engine so it aligns with the flywheel and fit the locking pin to lock it in place.

----------------

fit the pins locking the camshaft sprockets

----------------

mark up the belt, sprockets and engine.

----------------

make sure everything is nice and secure

----------------

at this point you should be able to loosen the tensioner and remove the pulley.

----------------

mark up your new belt exactly the same as the old one and fit and tension up using an m6 bolt if needed and torque it up nice and tight.

----------------

refit the crank pulley

----------------

remove all timing pins

----------------

rotate the engine by hand using the bolt on the crank and make sure it all rotates ok

----------------

refit covers etc

----------------

fire it up and hopefully it will be job done.

is this right feel free to correct me on anything.

2001 1.2 16v clio

hi guys, I need some help if poss please. whenever I move off slowly when I turn left or right there is a chirping noise, not sure where its coming from, it only makes the noise when the car first sets off and with the steering wheel turning either way. iv had rear brake shoes replaced and front pads, the noise was doing this before I had brakes changed. rod ends replaced. my mechanic has no idea whats making the noise. its driving me mad. 4 new tyres last week and its still making the noise. can anyone shed any light onto what this noise could be and how to rectify it. thankyou in advance




clio 1.5 DCI wont start 'too many missing teeth'

hi guys, just wondering if any techies could help me here.



i have a clio 1.5 thats died on me, symptoms are it just turns over and flashes the red engine management stop light.



got a friend to plug his solus in and it came up '1007 too many teeth missing'



now from what ive googled this means the sensors faulty on the flywheel which is the crankshaft sensor? or the TDC sensor?



at the same time everything i find seems to relate to the 1.2 engine so just want to check before i buy one or if anyone else has any ideas? bit stuck!

I had an injector disgnosed as faulty, im going to attempt to remove it even though i know its gonna be a pig of a job, however i need to know which cylinder number 4 is, which side, i had mixed result from searching and asking.

hi cambelt snapped fitted new head cambelt and bits and pieces but obviouslyi have no idea of the timing of the pump am i right in thinking that i can only be a maximium of 3 revoloutions of the pump out renault kangoo 1.9d 51 plate 130.000mls

I have just purchased a Laguna III Initiale Automatic 2008 Model. I cannot see the sat nav controls. It doesnt have it near the gear stick. Just exactly where are the controls?

Scenic 1.9dci Auto gearbox oil filler/leveller plug

Hi,

I have a 2008 1.9 dci scenic megane and it has been seeping oil from the gearbox sump drain plug.

I would like to either top up the existing oil or drain and replace. Problem is that all the threads and you tube clips are describing other variants of Scenic/gearbox and none of these are relevant. I can see a splined plug on the upper surface of the gearbox housing and think this is the one. Could someone who has done oil change levelling on this auto gearbox please add an image of the filling plug so I can be sure. In fact any help would be appreciated.

not selecting gears renault megane 2006 1.5dci

any body got any ideas my renault megane 1.5dci 2006 6 speed i can not select any gears when engine is running i can when its turned of had new clutch pressure plate and slave fitted september but cluch peddle was only about half what it was before and bitting really low started getting stiff to put in gear around 2 weeks ago but could now can not put it in gear at all with the engine running if i try to put in gear it trys to move really really slow with cluch pressed or not pressed tryed bleeding the cluch seems like ive got a good peedle but when i start the car there is little peedle there but still can not select any gears any 1 with ideas thankyou:confused:

Megane 05 1.5d starting issues

I am having issues with my megane. After filling up the other day the car suddenly cut out, showing an injector fault. Would not restart so i had to be recovered.



First thing i checked was that i added the right fuel (yes i did) and then checked there was no air in any of the fuel pipes to the injectors. After many attempts of starting it still wont take and eventually wore the battery out.



So i want out and got an ODB reader and this just shows linking issues when connected.I am now really at my witts end. Anyone got any ideas on what the issue is:confused:

Laguna 111 Card reader fault

I have a laguna 111 1.5 deisel 2010, When inserting key card and pressing the start button the dash board lights up insert key.

i have had some one out to it, Tried to program new key card but that wasnt the problem. I have a fault code read and its saying power to the card reader.



Does any one no which is the fuse or rely for the card reader?. i have been in touch with renualt and they will not tell me!

megane 2001 clutch fault?

Hi all my first post so apologies if its in the wrong place,

I have a 2001 megane 1.4 16v which a couple of weeks ago the clutch started slipping for no obvious reason, clutch felt high that me, (but told that they are) anyway clutch cooled down and other than the smell of clutch next day car felt fine, just tonight I have stopped at traffic lights, pulled away in 1st gear and as I have released the clutch, there was a clicking noise, approx. 3 clicks, changed to 2nd and car fine, then into 3rd and nothing, managed to pull over, but now the car will go into gear without using the clutch, and be taken out of gear with the pedal released, now with the pedal released the car doesn't move, there is no horrible noises, or smells, the only thing I have noticed is the clutch pedal seems to have more play in pedal, and is higher than brake pedal by a good way, cable seems intact, will investigate further tomorrow. but any help or advice would be much appreciated,

Kangoo gear selection intermittent !

Hi All, my dad has a 2007 Kangoo 1.2 petrol and had trouble selecting 1st gear the other day,now looking in the forums it seems that a plastic joint wears,looking on ebay the part could either be 7700872205 or 77014641 as they are both listed for the Kangoo, would these be the first bits to change for this problem and if so which one is correct, cheers - Stuart




Making cam timing tools

Im going to tackle the cambelt replacement on my 2002 renault scenic to avoid the arm and a leg scenario from the local garages.

Ive found the cam timing kit made by sealey,but Im after the dimensions for making up the tools myself,ive scoured the forums and found the info for the crank pin and the camshaft end slots tool. I just need the dimensions for the camshaft locking tool in case of the cam pulley bolts having to be loosened to bring the timing in bang on

laguna rear bushes with a nasty twist

so i finally had to do the rear bushes on my laguna 2 estate

i'll be honest i've been avoiding it like the plague but i had no option because its mot time on monday (well it was)



firstly i read the haynes ....... not really that much help tbh



then i searched here and found lots of help and information



i did the bush on the drivers side no problems ....took about 45 min



then i moved on to the passenger side and it all went wrong

not with the bush replacement ....i've done that and the car is all back together ....no what i found on that side is lots worse than just a worn bush



the top mount for the shocker has broken away from the car ...... at least now i know what the clunk on the back was the other night



right now i have very little idea how i'm gonna fix this .... ive had a chat with renault and they dont make a repair panel in fact the guy in parts didnt actually believe me untill i emailed him a pic of the broken part



it looks like i'm going to have to find a dead laguna in a scrap yard and cut out the bits i need



has any one else had this problem or anything like it ??




Renault Espace Cd player problem

Hi Guys and Girls,



Im new to the forum. Just bought a Grand Espace 3.5l v6 but am having issues with the cd changer. I have done some research on here before posting but cant seem to fix the fault.



It is saying error when switching to the cd changer. I have tried removing the changer to see if a cd is stuck but there isn't. I have manuely reset the arm as well but to no avail. When I hit the eject button the cassett does not eject. I cannot hear any movement from the unit at all. The only sign of life is when I hit the eject button i get a beep from the speakers.



Does anyone have any ideas?

Oil ran out

Hello all



Ok so like an idiot the oil light came I, I ignored it and my car just stopped instead of holding idol, I put oil in (a litre) and at first it did not start, it sounded like the battery was flat, but after a bit the engine started and it seemed ok, a few days later the engine rattles when it revs over 2000 RPM and after a bit the engine cuts out instead of holding at its resting point, I know it needs looking at but I just need to know how bad it really is.

I have had the cambelt changed 3 months ago so I know the noise is not from that, the rattling sound like something is loose in the engine.

(I know I should not have ignored the warning light)




EPB Completely Dead?

Hi,



One morning, when starting my 2006 Scenic 1.6, I was greeted with a beep and "Parking Brake Fault". The parking brake would not release, so in order to drive to work I had to pull the handle in the boot, which released the handbrake/parking brake.



Before that morning it would come up with "Parking Brake Fault" on a hill, but not on the flat.



Since pulling the handle, I still have "Parking Brake Fault", and the parking brake will not engage, either automatically or with the handle, and the messages "Parking brake off" and "Check parking brake" are my constant companions. Pulling the manual handle on the dash does nothing, and carrying out the reset sequence detailed in other posts in this forum also does nothing. There is no noise from the motor at all under any circumstances.



I took the car to an auto electrician, who did a diagnostic and said that there was an internal fault within the module, and a low voltage warning as well. I will get a new battery fitted after the weekend.



Does this definitely look like a dead module, which will need to be replaced with a new unit or repaired by a certain company?



Any advice would be appreciated.




Mk2 Clio Coilpack

Hi All



I have a Mk2 Clio that apparently has a misfire on cylinder 2.



I am goinf to do a plug change etc tomorrow however I know how notorious the coil packs are.



The coil pack was changed about 18 months ago and the car has been sat unused for over 12 months (started occasionally but not driven).



Is there a way to test the coil to see if it is at fault?

Renault Clio IV poor radio reception

I've just bought a new 2015 Clio and the radio reception on it is useless compared to my old 56 plate Fiat Grande Punto and my 09 BMW.



I still do the same commute and where I used to get perfect radio reception for the whole journey I now get a lot of radio snow. mainly happens on BBC FM stations... :crazy:



Is there any easy way to rectify this? Like getting a bigger aerial??!?



Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I've just got a nice new Renault Megane Yesterday took into the car park and put my yearly car park pass in the sun visor behind the mirror cover where it slid into the back of the visor because I am an idiot:confused:. Can anybody help I have taken the plastic gromit out but there is no screw to take it off.:(




98 megane 1.6 8v sport misfire issues

Hi all new to the forum but have read lots of helpful posts in the past. Got a megane mk1 confusing misfire issue.



There are 2 misfires. 1 is constant and very faint but noticeable. The other is a decceleration random jolt which sods off if i unplug the map sensor, the constant misfire stays.



So far replaced leads. coils. knock sensor. speedo sensor (as speedo didnt work turned out to be a bad earth). Lambda sensor and spark plugs to 4 post ones.

Car doesnt run hot and seems to run spot on when cold. I get a chunky misfire for the first 2 revs after starting the engine. When accelerating its slow up to 3000-3300rpm then from 3500 to 4200rm its like a turbo then holds back again. Downhill it seems to run alot better through acceleration which makes me think its an under load issue.



Any help would be great. Tia




Engine Clatter/Thrashing/ Hammering when touching accelerator??

Hi each and all, this one has me miffed, I have an Engine Clatter/Thrashing/ Hammering between 1000 - 2500 RPM I cant work out if it is from the top or bottom of the engine:/ It goes completely after you go past 2500 RPM, if you take your foot off the accelerator it also seems to go, touch the accelerator and the Clatter/Thrashing/ Hammering starts again, take your foot off the accelerator it goes again

I cant get to the bottom of it, It is a replacement engine as the other one was goosed, it has covered 63000 miles, came with all the parts with the engine, Turbo, Injectors, Diesel pump ETC, I have fitted a new timing belt kit, clutch kit, CSC, No leake, no use of oil, no overheating, one thing that has got my attention is that I read if you change the Fuel Injectors you are supposed to code them to the brain, obviously these have not as they came already on the replacement engine,




MEG MKII 1.4 engine mount part number

Hi everybody



Trying source a replacement rear gearbox/engine mount. However all my local parts places seem to struggle committing to saying this is your part. They've suggested i get the part number.



However ive looked on the mount and cart seem to find any numbers printed on the original item. Does anyone know the correct part number? Iv'e managed to find on eBay the part that looks correct and according to the listing is correct, the numbers they give are:

Electronic Brake Force Distribution

Four words that can make a big difference how a car handles in an emergency.

This vehicle is not one that was presented to me for repair but a vehicle that was involved in an accident, after the event I was discussing the incident and the possible causes. It did make me very aware of the possible consequences of giving inaccurate advice to a customer.



(vehicle shown was a Clio mk 2 facelift model)

The vehicle in question is similar to the one above.



The vehicle in question was presented to a garage for repair to the clutch, the clutch was replaced all straight forward and after a road test the technician noticed the ABS came on during a road test, after going out during start up.

A phone call to the driver who was very honest and informed the technician that he had recently purchased the car with the ABS light on had intended to have it fixed then the clutch failed so he could not afford both repairs as he had only recently started driving.

The garage agreed to have a "quick look"at the ABS fault. The fault was very simple a loose ring on one of the drive shafts.

The loose ABS ring was removed as a temporary fix to help the customer with limited funds, new drive shaft to be fitted the following month.



WHAT WOULD YOU ADVISE IN THIS SITUATION ????



Would this car drive and handle in the same way as a car that was never fitted with ABS ???



The car in question was fitted with

Electronic Brake Force Distribution (part of the advanced ABS system).

This means that the distribution of braking effort to each wheel was controlled electronically. however this system was now inoperative and the braking force is supplied at a default value of 60%/40% front to rear split.



Under normal use this would be acceptable, the vehicle was unfortunately involved in a high speed emergency braking, as the weight shift was excessive towards the front of the vehicle 40% default braking to the rear of the car was excessive.

The rear brakes locked up the car rolled over at speed and one of the young occupants was killed.



This is an extreme and very sad example of how important it is to be able to work on modern systems with a full understanding and be able to advise the drivers of when a fault makes a car unsafe to drive.

Megane Coupe 1.5 DCI 2011 lighting problems

Hi,



I have a megane coupe 1.5 DCI 110 Tom Tom on a 61 reg.



I have a problem with the light cluster on the passenger side rear. None of the lights are working i.e indicator, tail light, brake light, reverse light.



Is there a fuse for the lights on this 1 side? I would assume not.



Has anyone come across similar problem, or know how to fix?

Megane MK3 hands free problem.

Good evening all,



Firstly hello, it's my first post so all help will be greatly received.



I have a problem using the hands free, it connects, the calls come through but the quality is very poor. I can hear every part of the conversations but whoever calls me says they can't hear my very well.



Is there anything in I can do to change this???

the only thing wrong is the heater blower isnt working on any of the settings.

Have done a bit of research, and it boils down to a blown fuse, knackered motor or the thermal fuse..

my question is, in what order would i test these items.

and also where is the thermal fuse located.

Laguna Sport Tourer II 03 - SatNav won't read CDs?

My Carminat Sat Nav, for no reason that I can fathom, has decided to stop reading any of my map CDs. I put one in, it spits it out. I've cleaned the discs; no joy. I've tried using a 'CD Lens cleaner' disc; again, no joy. Is there a knack to getting it back to life (take the car battery out and put it back in?), or is it Donald Ducked?

2004 Megane II 1.5dci - intermittent clutch start

the car will start using the button and pressing the brake pedal. it will intermittently start using the clutch and start button..

I have recently purchased a megane scenic mk1 phase 2 for spares or repairs to transplant it's engine into my scenic.

The donor car has two IR keys with it like this







My scenic only has one key so can i programme the donor car's key to work my car?

I know i will need to get a new keyblade cut to fit my locks and ignition but wondered if the transponder could be used?

If so, will there be any problems with the immobiliser etc?



Also can these key blades be cut at a normal key cutting shop?



Just to add the donor car (that i want to use the key from) is a 2000 X reg and mine is a 2002 02 Reg.

Laguna 2 A pillar trim / airbag cover removal

As per the title, I want to remove the piece of interior trim on the A pillar - the car is a 2005 Laguna 2. I want to run a power cable for a dash cam up the A pillar and have it drop down by the rear view mirror.



It is not obvious how this comes off and if it has an airbag behind it then it may be designed to break easily.



Does anybody know the correct method for removing this please?

Laguna suspension creaking while steering, only when dry

Hi



My laguna coupe has been suffering from a creaking sound from the driver side while steering.



The noise disappears if I've been driving in wet conditions, so I presume it is something like a bearing or a joint.



I have checked the spring and it isn't broken.



I think maybe it is the strut mount bearing?!



Any help appreciated.




Radiator cooling fan

I have just brought a renault laguna 1.6 authentique 2002 with a few problems, when you start the car from cold within a second or two the radiator cooling fan comes on and stays on its not on fast it only goes to fast when the car is at temperature then goes back slower i have checked many things but i have noticed that the relay in the engine fusebox (r3) is permanently enagised taking the relay out and the fan stops but still kicks in at temperature what actualy energises this relay because that might be faulty, many thanks only joined here today




scenic 1 no power

Hi, not sure if posting in the right section.

I have a scenic 1 phase 2 1.9 dci, when i start the car it starts with no problems, it moves but has no power. It revs at about 3000 and wont go any higher, top speed of around 45 in 2 mins (fast, i know ha ha)

Any way my alternator pulley was making a noise while idle it was cheaper to get a new alternator so got an rtx one. I got a week out of it before the dash lights started flickering, and then it blew, ive replaced it, and was fine, after a couple days my heat plug light came on after a couple seconds of starting the car, and i lost power, i got my heat/glow plugs checked and they was all knackered, so replaced them and the problem still there, no power.

I got someone to check car over with a computer, which came up with the fault of boost pressure sensor, i was shown what and where it was, i got one new, changed it over and the problem is still there no power, and heat plug light still on.

Ive checked fuel filter for water, no water in there.

Ive checked and replaced the air filter. Still got problem.

Im at an end now, not knowing any thing about engines, i need my car for work but only doing 45mph its no good for motorway use as i work all over. At the mo i have no money what so ever as i cant get to work.

Has any one else had this problem or know what the problem is.

If i have left any details out please let me know.

mkIV Espace 2.0t running issues

Howdy all, having probs with my Espace and it seems like this is the best spot to visit for advice, so I am really hoping you can help point me in the right direction. I am quite happy to get involved in all mechanical work, but most of my experience is Vauxhall realted as I spent my youth tinkering with these, main prob is I have limited opportunity to look at the car with 2 toddlers on my hands when not at work, but fear the bill if I send it to the garage for investigation.



It is a mkIV Espace 2.0t from 2003. The description of faults is as follows…



· Approx 1 month ago the EM light came on, but the car felt fine, coupla days later it went off again, so thought no more of it. Car felt fine at this point.

· Coupla weeks ago the car started to feel just a little slow on local driving.

· On the 6th Feb I took a 50 mile motorway drive, the car was very underpowered, hard work getting up to speed on the flat, uphill it slowed down to 65ish. Once up to speed it could maintain 75 no prob and reach 80 with coaxing.

· I had it into the garage for a diagnostic check, only code was DF394 CAT FUNCTION FAULT.

· Chucked a bottle of Cataclean through it.

· Over the next week we unfortunately had to use it for a good 500 miles without any work being done, no option to not due to family probs. It gradually got worse. It would sometimes feel as if misfiring, and sounded like a low comp engine, acceleration got slower still. The EM light came back, the screen said “anti pollution monitor fault”

· On the last journey home it managed the 70 miles slowly. Foot down off a roundabout it would misfire and bog down, gentle throttle meant it would very slowly accelerate. Momentum on the motorway was my friend. Uphill it slowed to sub 50mph on occasion. Finally in the last coupla miles to home it went into limp mode. 2000rpm max, EM light on, ESP light on, SERVICE light on, a squiggly line light on (dunno what it is!). Readout mentions APM fault again, then states ESP fault, then something else I can’t remember about injection system.

· Now after being stopped and restarted, it works again, but just a little spirited driving will put it into limp mode straight away.

· I have had the plugs out to inspect, didn’t check gaps but all plugs kinda evenly coloured, although second one is slightly discoloured compared to other three it didn’t ring any alarm bells.



So, any advice, experience etc really appreciated. Got no smoke when driving which is encouraging. Do not know whether I should be looking at injection system, ignition, sensors, air pipes, exhaust/turbo, lost!!!

cam belt and dephaser change advice please?

I have bought a dephaser as I have a diesel knock on my petrol 2litre 16v espace.





I am a bit lost however on the water pump situation. Its common sense to replace the water pump so I also baught a water pump, but im learning that it might be aux belt driven pump?



My engine is a f4r700 can anyone tell me if its aux belt driven or cam belt driven please? I know the aux belt has to come off anyway so will change that to but I'm just curious?



I am buying my own parts you see, and have a garage who will fit it all.




Trafic 2.5dci. Difference dci140 and dci150

I have a 2004 2.5 Renault Trafic which was in excellent condition until the cambelt snapped. The motor is completely destroyed with holes in the block etc!



I can buy near me a low mirage 2009 trafic 2.5 dci150 motor with all ancillaries at a good price. Does anyone know what the differences are between this and my dci140?

Any help and advice gratefully received.




clutch peddle

Hi i have a Renault megane 1.5dci estate ive recently had a new clutch, but then the peddle return spring broke i have a new spring but im sure its not the correct one so i haven't got it fixed yet, but now every now and then the gears stick..ie it has trouble oing in to 3rd gear from 2nd gear.

1.Does anyone know where to buy the

correct spring.

2. Any help with the peddle please

Its seen better days thats for sure but it normally runs like clockwork.

2000 Clio Grande indicator problem

Hi there..I searched the forum but am not sure if I'm on the right track at all.



The car was parked up for a couple weeks while I was sick.I had left the window open and the weather was awful(might have something to do with it?)When I started driving around yesterday the indicators stopped working.They come back on if I turn the engine off and on again!...(I think the car might think its a computer now:d)



Anyway..might it be damp related do you think?

Clio Analogue vs Digital Fuel/Temp gauge

I've noticed some Clios have a digital fuel and temp gauge where as most have analogue. Are these only on specific trims? I'm looking for a 1.5 diesel Clio but I'd prefer the digital gauges (call me weird for the reasons) but the gauges are blue rather than boring grey and the tacho goes to 6K rather than 7K on the diesel model so just looks neater! I thought maybe they were only on the Campus but I've seen 03 plates with the digital gauges as well.




megane mk 3 air bag lights

Can anyone out there advise me on my megane mk 3 sports tourer.

The airbag lights on the dash keeps coming on for about a minute then going off and so on. X3 lights, the spanner, airbag and check airbag.

i bought an 08 laguna sports tourer



i have a few issues with it and i hope someone can help.



1 - the cd player does not accept cds, it spits them out after taking them in. its a 6 cd changer.



2 - keyless entry doesnt seem to work? renault have said the car defo has this feature. the dealer said it didnt. renault asked me what colour the badge was on the card and stated as it is chrome this proves it has it?



3 - today the drivers window stopped going down fully and automatically with one press. i need to keep pressing the button and it moves an inch or 2 each press. is this a common issue?

Wiper problem

59 plate clio gt



My wipers won't go the speed they are supposed to in fast mode. They are auto wipers and when sensor detects need to enter fast mode they pause but then go normal speed. If I manually put them in fast mode they do the same thing pause then go normal speed. By pause I mean they scoot up the windows about 5 inches from the bottom pause then carry on at normal speed.



Anybody got any ideas?




Renault Clio II (2000) Grande 1.2 -Intermittant Starting Problems!!

I'm new to this forum and know a little about cars (so apologies in advance if I sound as thought I don't know what I'm talking about) but I have this weird and intermittent starting problem with my car and would like some advice please.



On occasions, the car would start fine, the engine would turn over and everything works perfectly. Other times, I would turn the key and nothing! I can hear the full pump but the engine would not turn over.



I was told that it was the starter motor, so I changed this and the problem came back after a few days, so its definitely not the starter motor.



I don't think its the cam shaft sensor, as I removed this and cleaned it but it made no difference plus if it was the sensor then the engine should at least turn over which its not doing anyway.



There's two relays (black) next to the battery behind the headlight which I've changed but still get the problem.



The only way I can get it started is by first putting the key in the ignition and turning it so that all lights are on. Then under the bonnet, removing the thin wire to the starter motor (I think trigger wire) and shorting the connection on the starter motor with the nut on the starter motor which I believe has a connection to the red cable and the battery. The starter motor will turn and the car will start no problem.



If the key in the ignition is not turned so that all the lights are not on, then the starter motor will just turn but the engine will not start.



Any ideas on this issue, I'd really appreciate your thoughts?

Timing Belt Snapped?

Hi



Today whilst driving around a roundabout my engine made a very heavy clunking noise and I lost all power, the engine then cut out.



I did try to restart but as soon as it did it just cut out again so i left it, called a recovery truck and got towed home.



As luck would have it (might aswell find a bright side in all of this) a man who was walking passed the roundabout approached me, advised he used to be a mechanic (retired now) and said it sounded like your timing belt has snapped.The only way to check is to look at the belt behind the housing. However on my clio dci the housing is bolted in place by a large metal bracket with 4 16mm bolts it seems.



Is it a case of just removing this bracket or do i need to be wary about this and approach with caution?

Megane III rear door panel removal ???

Just picked up a '14 Megane ...



There are no rear speakers .. (not a problem, i'll put some in... or so I thought!)



I cannot see how to remove the rear door panels...



I have found two torx screws.. (under the cap in the door latch and on the side of the panel) and even by removing those ...its not budging at all..



Other than going mad and yanking as hard as I can..



Can anyone shed some light on how I may remove the panel to fit the speaker please ??

Hi all. . Wondering if any of you can answer this. .I have lumpy idling on my 54 plate dci clio.. Very well serviced . Had the codes read. . Came up with the glowplug module circuit open fault. . Im having no starting issues at all. . Hot or cold. ..it drives fine with good mpg... Would this fault cause lumpy idling? I know electric faults can cause many issues but thought I'd ask you for any input. Occasionally I get the engine management light with stop. . As soon as I lift off pedal it goes out after a second or . Many thanks for any help

having just observed an auto electrician use one of these diagnostic machines it occurs to me that it might be useful if i bought my own They are available on e bay and the like for around £25. Can anyone offer any experience of using these devices, are they any good and can anyone recommend a suitable one for my 2005 1.5dci modus




2003 1.8 laguna poor starter

H all, i have found some good pointers on this forum so far but cant find the answer to this problem. My 2003 laguna 1.8 16v was starting fine until my mate changed the clutch after which it takes 3-4 seconds before firing up. This forum pointed at the TDC sensor which i changed and then also the connector but niether have solved this (i now have three TDC sensors) Occaisionally however it will fire up quickly but this is always followed 30 seconds later by the yellow engine warning light flashing indicating excess fuel. I was also experiencing the engine missfiring at times and cured this with new stick coils. Air filter and spark plugs also changed. Could it be another sensor issue? Would a faulty lambda sensor cause poor start up? I have also read about possible engine coolant sensor issue. Any ideas much appreciated thanks.




Fuel rail pressure sensor

Hi. I am new to the forum and this is my first post, so I apologise if I get anything wrong. I have an '04 Scenic 1.9dci that I had to get recovered the other day. Whilst driving the STOP and service lights came on and Injection failure message came up on the dash. The car now wont start. The guy that recovered it plugged in his diagnostic thing and it came up P0190 fuel rail pressure sensor A circuit. Can anyone help as to what this might be and if I change it would the fault code need to be reset before the car will start? Thanks for any help anyone can give




hazzard lights

help my Renault laguna 52 plate the hazard lights are coming on by themselves came out this morning and they were flashing result battery to flat to start,how do I sort this problem,plus not sure what relay it is in fuse box,as no fuse box lid was missing when got car:confused:

replacing fuel filter

Hi all Just got a 13 model LWB trafic to add to my fleet and am fitting a aftermarket separ fuel filter to it in place of the factory Renault item



There is a light coming on the dashboard now little spanner I figure its to tell me to service the original filter or water in the original filter some help there would be nice

Wondering if I can disable this function in the ECU with the right tool let me know if anyone has tried this or achieved this




modus switching and protection unit (engine compartment fuse box)

I have asked this once before without success so here goes again.



The fuse box in the engine compartment contains 9 relay slots with 8 of them occupied by relays.



despite extensive research I cannot discover what these relays do and would like to know.



Can anyone tell me?

starter noisy after engine fires up

Hi All



My Sept 09 Clio III's starter is noisy, for a few seconds, after the engine fires up and runs. It would seem that the bendix is "dragging" and hence contacting the flywheel very noisily as it does so?



Or so I think...



It has about 47000 miles on it, and in pretty good condition.



What is the problem and any advice please?

Squeak in Steering

Hi I'm new to the forum and new to Renaults, my last car was a Vauxhall Corsa, not bad for 15 years old either.



Anyways I was driving around the town today when I noticed that there is a strange squeaking sound coming from my steering when turning either left or right.



It sounds like it's just coming from just behind the wheel itself but I cant be sure.



My car is a 5dr, Clio 05 plate 1.2




SERVICE LIGHT (Fixed)

Ever since I've owned the car the SERVICE* (not spanner sign) has been lit.

First problem was DF049 - Refrigerant Sensor Circuit, short circuit to earth, secondly, DF055 parking brake, low voltage.

A new 096 * not 027 (original) battery was fitted today even thought Halfords said the 027 was fine.

I gave the terminals + - a jolly good clean and fitted new 096 battery, Cleaned injection computer plugs with contact cleaner before battery fitment.

Next came card reader fault :confused:

All was not lost :cool: Out came the beast, and all faults cleared :d except the damn SERVICE light :confused:



What could be causing this ???? I was baffled by it.

I had a play today and looked at configuration of computers, seems I have Cruise control speed limiter. Errr no i don't !

Deactivated cruise control limiter and the SERVICE* light went out :d

Not a fault but a configuration problem.

All computers show no faults and correct voltage.

What a day !

I've looked every where on how to release tension on belt but can't find out how to

The only thing I can see is what looks like a 13 mm nut just above a plastic looking pulley wheel but it's in a very difficult position to release.

starting issues and loosing oil

Please help! I bought a megane 1.6 16v 04 around a month ago, perfect on 2 test drives no unusual sound etc. On drive home car went into limp mode and toxic fume light flashed, garage said misfire on cylinder 4 so coil changed, car was fine. Then starting issues, car make a grinding noise if not going to start and will start first time if revved for few seconds, then when cold very juddery for awhile until warm, Judders when idleing and rev counter can be seen moving slightly whist doing this, sometimes only sat for half an hour or so before not staring again ( have read up on dephasher ànd not quite my symptoms) tdc cleaned up, no different. Sometimes sounds like diesel engine and sounds like it is struggling when being driven, other days drives fine. Another problem is it is loosing a fair amount of oil with no visible leaks. Is blowing smoke from exhaust looks white to me, hubby says it looks slightly blue, Have done spark plugs, oil filter, waiting for new ignition coils to come have checked for head gasket signs, can't find any! Car has stalled a few times, spoke to a garage who said that thought there was two different problems but would charge a lot just to look, some one else said piston rings so new engine and also toxic light has started flashing again! Please does any one have any ideas? Hubby will have a look at weekend buy does any one knowwhere to start! Thank you




Scenic 1.5dci EGR poor throttle and check emissions

I have cleaned my EGR unit thanks to the help on this forum, cheers, but HOWEVER having cleaned the unit I have some better throttle response but still dead spots occassionally and check emissions still coming up on dash. Should i have removed the body as well and cleaned deeper? any suggestions?:confused:




Clio PH1 infra red central locking

My trusty/rusty Renault Clio Ph1 has had a lot of time and money spent on it in the last 12 months to keep it going.



Part of this has been repairing the sun roof and the leaking areas. Previous leaks had affected the airbag ECU which I've replaced and got working again, the floor pan which I've had welded and the carpets which I've had to take out and allow to dry and clean.



They have also seem to have affected the infra-red receiver near the cabin light because the central locking doesn't work.



I didn't mind so much to begin with, but the drivers door lock seems to be wearing out now (as it locks the car but won't unlock it with the key) so I'm getting a bit tired of having to unlock from the passenger side, then press the central locking button to unlock the other doors (this still works) before walking around to get in the drivers side.



So far I have:

-Replaced the batteries in the key

-Tried reprogramming the key to the system

-I've tried 3 different second hand receivers (I refuse to pay £90 for a new infra red receiver from Renault, one of the second hand ones must work)



And it still doesn't work.



I put the original receiver back in the car as sometimes this one works for maybe half an hour then it gives up again for months at a time so I figure the receiver may be working to some extent.





Can anyone advise me on what I should look at next?



Where does the wiring from the receiver lead to? Could the problem be there?

Help fault codes.....

After heavy rain today water has got in to behind dash.... The AA came out and sorted water out for me (I'm not very technical) and now the only thing that is not working is the climate control. The AA found the fault code B1129 but I can't find anything to say what this relates to? I run a Megane 1.9 DCI 2009. If anyone knows what this code is or where I can go to find out please help.....




Engine bay part missing?

Hi all, I was replacing the air filter on my 04 Scenic 1.9dci and noticed that I could clearly see the interior fan assembly. I am assuming there should be a cover or plate for this as it makes no sense to have a cabin filter if there is a gaping hole where the fan can draw air in.



Anyone advise if I am missing something as I suspect?



Perhaps someone could post a pic of what they can see behind the air filter housing?

Valeo Alternator

Does anyone know what the purple wire is from the alternator? I'm STILL trying to fix the rev counter. When the purple wire is disconnected, everything still works as it should.

I assume this controls the rev counter?

Any ideas??

Clio wiring loom

Hi, I'm a little new to all this forum business so please be patient with me! My husbands Clio has had intermittent electrical problems but the other day decided enough was enough. The dash board lights up like Christmas with every light possible on and that's it, nothing when you turn the key. I checked through a few possible reasons but all seemed ok. Whilst puzzling about it I discovered the worn wiring by the ecu plug. I have been looking through lots of posts regarding the tamper proof box rubbing through the wiring loom so now know it's a common problem. Unfortunately looking at the state of the wires there will be no way of repairing them so have sourced a new wiring loom. I understand that the Ecu may also need replacing but want to try this first. Does anyone have any tips on doing this? I've read about cleaning the contacts etc when swapping looms over, but is there a logical way of actually fitting the loom or is it just a case of patience and perseverance? Or am I biting off way more than I can chew! The Clio is a 1.2 51 plate and if this doesn't work it will be a gonna as it won't be worth spending much more on it.

Cambelt change interval ?

quick question about cambelt change times, i have recently bough a 2000 reg renault laguna 1.9dci and looking at a reciept it had a new cambelt on 6 july 2009 when the car was on 79k, it is now on 108k so only done about 30k since that date and on each mot its only done 6k a year everytime, am i worrying about nothing or will it be time for a cambelt change soonish ?

Key Card Won't Start My Laguna II 1.9dci 2003

Hello there,

I've just had to lock my laguna II 03 plate 1.9dci by getting my daughter to come to my location and she had to sit in the drivers seat and lock the doors by pressing the door lock switch on the centre console. We opened the drivers door window and then quickly removed the key card and she then climbed out through the window and we used the electric window button to close the window as she got out. Car secured at location.

Why??



Answer:

I got into my car, put the key card into the slot and got nothing but continual flashing from the light behind the slot and the red immobiliser light continually flashing faster than when the key card is out of the slot. Key Card won't open or lock the car and the battery is new and in the right way around.

Please can somebody send me an explanation as to the cause and hopefully a solution to the Problem??

crankcase breather valve loction

Hi I have an 02 plate renault laguna 16v petrol auto. i found some oil Inside the box between the throttle body and air filter i have now noticed a puffft sound when I hit the accelorater pedal I've been told to check the crankcase breather valve for a blockage but have no idea where it is can anybody help me many thanks




2000 Laguna Mk1 Phase2 1.6 Sport Wheel Alignment

Hi I'm a Newbie so please be gentle!



I've just had the first new Clutch fitted to my Laguna @117k.



Fearing that the Wheel Alignment might have been affected I took the Laguna to the Tyre Fitters who rigged it up to the Supertracker system.



Unfortunately the Supertracker Measurement Suite does not seem to include my vehicle. So once again I have had to reluctantly settle for the Renault Laguna mk2 1.6 2001>2006 measurements to be set!



I have since contacted Supertracker, in Southampton, who confirmed that my Laguna's details are not included in the Supertacker Database.



Can anyone help me with the correct measurements.





My Laguna has 16" Aries Alloys shod with AVON ZV5 205/55/R16 91V Tyres (in good condition).

Wondered if anyone had a write up or there was a post for DIY servicing. I had a search but couldn't see a topic or sticky.



I know there's a lot of guides and check lists online.



I'm keen to do a service myself, maybe not too much in it, filters and an oil/coolant change?



It's maybe more general than model specific so apologies if this should be in a different forum area.



Also do you get your items from a dealer or use a local motor factor/online shop.



Finally how much oil and coolant/antifreeze would be needed for changes?



For info my car is a 2005 Megane II 1.5dCi 80

1.4 poor MPG and over revving

Hello All,



I’ve had my 1.4 scenic Fuji (03) around 2 months now and generally happy with the car. I have noticed since having it the fuel consumption is very high and the idle speed seems to be erratic.



Also when I am approaching a junction etc and press the clutch to slow\stop the revs go right down below 500 RPM almost stalling (has a few times) then back up to idle speed.



Also when on a motor way going uphill or under load the power seems to pulse on and off every second



The car had a full service before buying and I have just changed the MAP sensor with no change.



Lastly when in 5th gear and cruising the revs seems to be too high ie at 70mph the rev speed is around 3500 RPM does this seem normal?



I’m thinking to change the full set of coils as a next step, but thought would ask for some advice from the forum experts.



Hoping someone as some experience or good advise as I seems to be never away from the filling station ***61516;

cold start

Hi every one I Have renault scenic dynamique 1.6 16v on a 04 plate please can any help me my car will not tick over from cold as soon as you start it its cut's out the only way I can stop it from cuting out is to try and keep your foot on the accelerator to keep the revs up for a minnet then after its fine please can any one help me with this please : D




The rake

I was working in the garden this weekend and my wife was about to take a shower. I realized that I couldn't find the rake.. I yelled up to my wife,

“Where is the rake?"



She couldn't hear me and she shouted back, "What?"

I pointed to my eye, and then I pointed to my knee and made a raking motion



Then my wife wasn't sure and said "What?"

I repeated the gestures.

My wife replied that she understands and signals back. She first points to her eye, next she points to her left breast, then she points to her backside, and finally to her crotch. Well, there is no way in hell I could even come close to that one.



Exasperated, I went upstairs and asked her, "What the hell was that?

Renault Clio III Ecu location/removal

Hello all! This is my first post here so please be gentle :p



My dad in his infinite wisdom has bought himself a mk 3 2012 1.2 clio which has previously had a prang. It is a non starter now, when you turn the ignition, dashboards lights come on but that's it - no other sign of life!



After doing some research I'm thinking that the ecu needs to be reset or have any previous data cleared...which seems fine if I could find the damn thing in the first place! Have trawled t'interweb but to no avail!



Can anyone help with where the ecu is on a clio 3 and how to remove it?

Laguna III Speed Pulse Wire

Im currently fitting a Digitax Mater to my Laguna, however part of the fitting requires that a wire is connected to the speed pulse wire at the back of the radio.



There is not much reference on the net regarding the iso diagram for the Laguna III audio.



Any help would be greatly apreciated as to which wire it is.

Hi new on hear was just wondering if anyone could advise me on which exhaust system to go for. I've got a Clio 172 and I'm after a cat back system nothing to loud just well made and Gives a sporty sound? Thanks




Car, pinked then died and wont start.

2004 Clio 1.5 dci 80bhp



Hi all, hoping I can find someone who's had the exact problem I have, have found similar but not quite the same.



So driving on M25 I noticed car slightly 'pinked' when accelerating around 60+ mph. So I slowed to around 60 and sat in the inside lane to see if I was imagining it. Its was fine cruising at 60 just light on accelarator but soon as I put my foot down the odd 'pink' seemed happen again (I didn't boot it hard). I decided to come off the motorway and slowed down at the traffic lights. Soon as the car came to a stop the revs just dropped off and it died and has not restarted since.



AA towed it home as they couldn't get it going. AA read 2 codes, 1 exceeding fuel pressure then 1 with low pressure.



On live data as engine turns over, you can see RPM goes to around 280 so I guess the TDC sensor is ok. We tried using hand primer under filter but that makes no difference.



Tried starting by squirting easystart in air filter and it attempts to fire. AA cracked one of the injector seals open and diesel came out.



This is my mother in laws car so I am not used to it, but, when you turn the ignition on on my other diesels I usually hear a buzz as if system is priming, on the clio I don't get that, is this normal?



I have checked all the fuses I can find and I pull out relays to check for bad green connections others have mentioned in the forum, all looks fine to me.



Am after some cheap things I can try before it gets sold as scrap which I really don't wont to do. Shes just bought a megane dci and this was suppose to be going up for sale... typical!



Incidently the sunroof is leaking on drivers side, Is anything located that side which could get water damaged?



I have cleared the codes and nothing came back.. except if I keep it cranking for about 5 seconds, the red engine management light with stop in the middle starts flashing and then the P0089 code appears in my code reader saying low fuel pressure.



Is there a fuel pressure relay? If so which is it amoungst the other relays under the bonnet

side door issues on master

hi im getting a door warning on my dash and an audible alarm,its the side door,,the other day both side door and rear doors failed to open,its a work van i specialise in commercial waste and the load had locked both doors rendering the van useless with the load stuck,,Renault wouldnt touch it as they would damage it trying to priz door open and was told id have to get someone else to do it or do it my self,well i managed to priz the side door open and get the van back on the road and working again but the side door keeps creeping open in transit and the alarm comes back on,i stop close the door again a few miles down the road same thing happens its driving me crazy, though sounder only bleeps 30 times or so then goes silent but dash only shows door open which is annoying ,,,help

Does anyone know how to remove the daytime running light on a 2012 megane? And also does anyone know where I can buy a new unit from as having problems with the current one as water has got in through a crack

hi all its Stuart wife, just letting you know that Stuart hasn't been on for a while as he has been very ill in hospital for over a week with a very rare condition called Miller fisher syndrome, it's where his immune system attacks his body all his nervous system and brain and muscles.



He's lost half of his speech and eyesight and can't hardly walk, should be still in hospital but couldn't cope in there, so they let him home to recover which he now needs 24/7 care in case it affects his breathing.



Recovery could take months but said he should make a full recovery.

Scenic Mk1 - Earthing fault

Hi all,



When the headlights are on and I press the brake pedal, the fog light warning symbol comes on, on the dashboard. The fogs themselves dont, just the warning light.



Earthing fault somewhere, either a lead corroded or other bad connection.



Any ideas on where I should look to solve the fault?




EGR Valve 2000 1.9dci

Hello,



i have been reading about the egr valve and decided to check mine, it was all crudded up with blocks of diesel falling out of it, so i've cleaned it up together with the hole it sits in and left the plug disconnected, is this a safe thing to do, been reading it improves overall engine life and mpg.

renault megane 1.5dci not engageing gears

hi all any body help me ive git a renault megane 1.5dci 2006 6speed trouble is i can not engage gears with engine running sometimes it does but not often and then there still also with the engine running i try to put in gear but wont go in full but the car starts to move very slightly ive a new cluch slave cylinder 3000 miles ago and all was fine car goes in every gear when not started cluch feels like its there any help will be great full please help need sorting for work thankyou




Where Can I get this Installed?

Renault Lagune service light on air bag light on no speedo or revs

I used my car this morning and it was fine.

Came to use it this afternoon and it was fine



Used again 10mins later and the service light, stop light and cruise control lights were on. Plus I had no indicators, and the revs and speedo did not work.



Apart from a little grumble in the engine it drove fine, but now these lights remain on and the car seems to be not switching its management system off?

Radio issue

I decided to upgrade my renault radio in my 2005 Clio1.2 recently and installed a Sony DSX-A40UI from Halfords. i followed the instructions to the letter and it worked perfectly. ASbout a week later it suddenly stopped working(it powers up but only beeps when I press any of the buttons) and the clock also vanished form the dashboard. The clock re-appeared two days later but the radio remains the same. I changed the radio fuse to a new one even though the old one appeared OK. All the other fuses are intact both in tyhe car and under the bonnet. Anybody have an ideas on whatsup??




Fitting roof rack

Hello All, a recent owner of a Kangoo (ex Postman Pat) and while looking down from a high rise, saw there are 4 black circular things on the roof. Are these for fitting roof rack / bars, and if so, is it a big job. There is no fixture on the roof at the moment, but it could be handy. xxx Any help would be appreciated. xxx Maggie xxx : D




05 espace mk4 heater cold on drivers side ???

hi --i have recently purchased a mk4 espace-- the heating was working fine on both sides until i tried the aircon on cold -- since then, i only have ice cold air on drivers side (passenger has nice warm air) . i assume there is a flap stuck somewhere -- if so, where would i find it and how can i fix please ??

Just purchased the van and after a few days the gearbox seems to have a problem driving along in auto and it seems to slip into neutral but on the dash it shows it still in gear icon for gearbox fault appears and will allow me to continue on in manual only in 3/4 gear any ideas as the van is perfect in every other way

Laguna 3 ABS light flashing

Hi all I have recently had a secondhand abs pump/module

fitted to my 2008 Laguna 2.0 dci estate. It has the correct part numbers as the original.The initial fault has gone which was brake system failure with abs light solidly illuminated. Now everything works o.k.with the exception of the abs light on dash flashes continually.

Any help would be appreciated.




Clio ABS light random ?

Hi my daughter has a 53 reg Clio 1.2 16v, and she tells me that the ABS light comes on every now and again, only for a few seconds or so. It appears to be totally at a bit random ie not when she brakes or goes over bumps. I've never had an ABS problem before and a bit stumped as where to start to trace this.

How to replace engine back support dogbone Espace mk3 t2

It's located below of car. There is two bolts.



What kind of supporting is needed to replace?




Battery dead in the cold weather?

I have a 94 scenic which had a new battery before Xmas, a new alternator last summer and a new glow plug in January

On cold mornings it takes a while to start but recently it won't even turn! After removing the key card it won't lock so it stays on the drive for a few hours. Then somehow it wakes up and starts rapidly clicking as if the central locking is kicking in and the only way to solve this is to disconnect the battery! I have a fully charged battery to try tomorrow but would love to find out how to fix this mystery***128533; might it be draining through a faulty circuit somewhere? I only click the key card once to lock it as my electric windows don't work in the winter(that's another story) . Hope someone here might have an idea to help? Thankyou




throttle body removal

This should hopefully be a quick question but can the throttle body be removed without removing the inlet mani first?



I ask because i don't have a replacement gasket for the manifold so don't want to disturb it. Looks like its two bolts that go through the mani, and two below and it will be free. I guess i will have to remove the plastic tubing on the rear of the throttle body that the air filter goes in to have enough space to pull it backwards.



Its for the 1.4 Megane in the 'my garage'

2009 clio gt suspension issue. lowering springs/standard springs

My girlfriend has a 09 gt clio mk3....she bougnt it and was unaware it had been lowered, consequently the ride quality is terrible and when she got a flat tyre a few week ago, the recovery had to be called out because they couldn't get a jack under the car to lift it to change the wheel. She wants it pit back to standard, the problem is, after phoning 4 or 5 renault dealers for prices they asked "what colour stickers are on the springs that are on"I told them they have been changed with non description red lowering springs, their response... "cant help you then"Its turning into a nightmare.



What m trying to find out is, does anybody know looking at tne car how much of a drop its had and what are the springs likely to be? Pi springs were mentioned as possible candidates after calling a few tuner parts shops, they dont seem to have any logo on looking under the car at the rear springs......Renault springs from dealers are something stupid like £100 each, my logic is if a set of eibachs would give much less of a drop than the crap thats on then that may be the lesser of two evils.



Any advice would be very much appreciated,
