My 2004 Espace has developed a tapping noise from the what sounds like under the rocker cover on the battery side.
I have unplugged the injectors individually with the engine running to try and eliminate a faulty injector and as you would expect the engine runs lumpy but the tapping noise continues.
I was wondering if the valves are adjustable and if so whether it might be worth trying to set the valve gaps to see if there is too much play in them.
Any advise would be welcomed as I do not know what to try next and don't want to cause any damage to the engine.
